Could delay be as simple as this?

Trying to steal the news cycle from the Commanders? We know Jerry loves the spotlight of publicity. Rivera was supposed to be announced yesterday, but that was put on hold until today. Maybe Jerry is just waiting until Rivera is announced, then will announce Garrett is gone to get everyone talking Cowboys again, rather than the Skins.

Get ready, have this horrible feeling he is coming back, god I hope I'm wrong

I think Garrett is definitely gone as coach and the wait is one of a few things 1) Respect factor for Garrett so maybe let contract run out 2) Maybe JG has no coaching plans and they want him in FO or 3) Jerry is trying to make sure his guy is available

I was thinking the same thing. However, I was thinking super bowl week.

I have the same feeling. Football isn't going to be fun next season if so. But, since I will be getting out more on those football Sundays, I'll be drinking less and being in better shape. Win for me.

if he were coming back, we wouldn't be having a 2nd meeting today. I think THIS is Jerry and Stevie planning Garretts exit strategy and presser. If they were gonna re-up him, they would have already on the initial meeting. I think deep down Jerry thinks he can talk Garrett into staying lol..but me thinks Garrett wants out of Dallas too.

cmon, enough of this BS. Jerry is like Elvis. When Elvis entered the room, he took the spotlight from whomever had it 30 seconds before. The COWBOYS firing JG and hiring anyone else is going to OWN THE SPOTLIGHT at anytime that it happens. cmon, where have you been? Do you see countless articles al over the place speculating about the jags?

IF by the end of the day there is no confirmation one way or another, Garrett will be back.

Same. The Garrett era has already reduced my fandom as I follow the team but don't buy or wear the merch anymore or attend games or get Sunday Ticket. But if he's back I'm done even watching

Sadly. I think it's the only way that Jerry gets it through his thick skull is if he is hit in the pocket books.. Sure, fans are still watching , buying, going to that stadium. If that all stopped? Imagine what would happen. Or, think what could happen.

I think they already have an agreement with a guy, and therefore feel no pressure to get this done asap. Their guy might still be coaching, so this may drag out for a while.

The most logical answer and makes the most sense.

exactly...I FEEL the same thing. I also think Garrett wants out, and may push today to simply get it over with now rather than drag it out. Coaching is hard on families. So I could see Garrett requesting his exit immediately.

maybe I am the minority. but doesn't it make a ton of sense if we are gonna hitch our wagons to either Zeke and/or Dak, we bring in Dan Mullen or Meyer?

The problem is, it will never stop. Every Cowboys fan could stop going to games, and the stadium would still be sold out and full of opposing fans. Every Cowboys fan could stop watching on TV, and the games would still be nationally televised because the Cowboys haters will still watch and root for the Boys to lose. The Cowboys are a money machine, and win or lose, there seems to be no way to stop it.
