Does anyone think JG's coaching can cost us a playoff spot like it did last year?

Could Bill Bellcheck cost his team another SB being out coached twice by Coughlin.

Im not a JG fan but im for sure not going to say it was all his fault last year. This team made a lot if mistakes and was just not that good last year. Mainly defensively and ST and penalties and coaching.

Wow! Garrett's the reason the Cowboys didn't reach the playoffs last season?

I never knew.

We will know the answer in 16 more weeks. Personally, I think he does a better job this season at clock-management but the reduction in penalties is still a wait-and-see for me.

This is like asking if a miss by Dan Bailey could end up costing us a chance at the playoffs. Or a blocked Chris Jones punt.

Sure it could, but then again almost anything could and it's only past Week 1 so far.

Well, some have a selective view of history...

Let's say that Garrett's coaching indeed could cost the Cowboys a chance at the playoffs.

What are we supposed to do about it? Go to Valley Ranch and protest in advance? Ask for a head coach replacement to prevent Garrett from coaching such a scenario?

Let me first off say that I'm a Garrett supporter, and hindsight is 20/20, but...

There were numerous times last season I did not like his play calling. I felt as if it was extremely predictable. I'd shout out plays before the ball was even snapped.

After the first game, I've seen progression from him. I did not like the 4th down run with Vickers, but Garrett has seemed to evolve his play calling a bit. I also feel that he's given even more trust in Romo when reading defenses presnap. Last year, that 1st and 30 play would have undeniably been a screen or draw call. Instead, he trusted Romo to make a good decision. Ended up being a TD to Miles.

All you can ask for is improvement. The late game situations concern me, but Garrett is one smart guy. I don't have any doubts that he will continue to improve.

Main problem with garret has been for years his predictable play calling. He does seem to be coaching good im just worried jj kept him there because jg seems like a yes man. We cant have that as a coach we need a strict hard nosed coach and hes not doing too bad as of now .

No,,

- Having Romo throwing non stop against the Lions
- Running non stop against the patriots and going 3 and out
- Arizona kicking situation

I'd say his coaching cost us 3 games directly.

What's funny is the popularity contest detracts from any objective discussion about his poor coaching last year. It was awful. If his supporters won't recognize that, that's because they refuse to look at it from an objective standpoint.

His in-game coaching was terrible. Those forgetting that are selectively doing so, because they told us a long time ago Garrett was the next Landry, etc.

My point is we could have made the playoffs, if not for several mistakes by Garrett. Take it or leave it. But leaving it is flat out denying the facts.

Why stop at playoffs? JG cost us a Superbowl! And, yes, he probably will again this year.

I always see people complain about how predictable our offense is and how people can call out the play before the snap. Guess what? I can watch any team play on any given day and do the same thing. If you recognize certain keys you can diagnose a play, offense or defense, with a great degree of certainty. The forementioned is why teams devote so much time to film study and why coaches devote so much time trying to disguise their offense or defense.
