Just throwing it out for discussion. Does Irvin's latest run in help Aikman in any way as a first ballot possibility? Aikman should be 1st ballot on his own merits, but I wonder if it in some way heightens his chances?

For one thing, I don't think enough credit is given to Aikman for what a QB has to endure as the QB of "America's Team". No one did it better than #12, and #8. Aikman was as solid a citizen as they come on a team that always seemed to have storm clouds around it.

Your thoughts?

Troy would be in regardless of what Irvin was involved with.

Only hurts Irvin's chances of getting in IMO. However, it could make it easier for voters to consider Rayfield or possibly Cliff Harris.
