Could RB Jaydon Blue be Tony Pollard 2.0?

Speed I’m taking Dorsett, moves too. I had read that Dorsett was only about 186lb soaking wet when he first came up.
He said he showed up for training camp his rookie season 179 pounds. Drew Pearson said he couldn’t believe how small he looked. Landry said he was afraid he wouldn’t hold up.

We have severely lack a RB that instantly bring speed and home run threat ability since pre-injury Tony Pollard in 2022.

- Pollard was instant explosive, and impressed the NFL as such that he even earned a Pro Bowl nod.
Too bad the Niners playoff ankle injury completely turned the tide on his Cowboys career.

- But Longhorn RB Jaden Blue might bring his own shade and impression, if he has durability, coach coach scheme and
support cast himself.

- Supposedly 4.2 clock speed at his Pro Day,...4.34 at the NFL combine,...and he had a number of break open plays at UT
Plus he offers some dangerous receiving skills, that we saw far too little from Pollard who never had a chance to develop
in that area under the previous coach staff.

- Opposing defenses really fear the heck outta game-breaking speed guys ..ala Barkley, Gibbs, Henry, James Cook, McCaffrey, etc. if used and utlized right, Cowboys may have some semblance of such explosive weaponry.
What Blue could be and what they'll allow him to be are two different things.

They definitely didn't make the most of Pollard. I won't be surprised if he ends up like Pollard 2.0 in that respect.

Actually ,you're right and you're wrong at first they didn't utilize Pollard properly but they caught on he got injured it took him down but yes it took them a while to want to use Zeke less and get Tony on the field, but then it went the opposite tony should have never been the three down starter his last year here under the franchise tag,

rico should have got more of those carries and then Tony could have been Tony but you're right but that's not the same staff none of those people are here anymore

I think that's the point everyone's missing they didn't draft this guy by accident tony Pollard is his absolute floor in my opinion he has Jamir Gibbs vibes i'm not saying he can be him they're the same height, weight, and speed.. If anybody wants to call this guy a gadget guy only a 3rd down guy a guy that catches passes well then why isn't Jamir Gibbs that guy give me a break and Tony Pollard came from the same type of situation he might have been the better running back in college but he split time and he was used more like a receiver and nobody knew what he was capable of doing well Jaden Blue was buried on a very deep Texas Longhorn backfield of elite runners he didn't get enough time as a regular running back but he can be more than just a third down or a change of pace back he's a real running back he's not tiny he's not small this isn't deuce.. He's nearly the same size as Emmett Smith with way more speed emmett may have been 10 pounds heavier but think about that let's calm down not you but people aren't here acting like this is just a 3rd down back no they got lucky they found them aback that if he can curtail the fumbles can be a split backfield and do a lot of good things he does not need to be limited...

So, he could be better than Pollard so I'm hoping at worse that's what we get preinjury Pollard this is not the same offensive staff...

He's not an example of success he's an example as a surprise to get 1000 yards yeah it wouldn't impress me either if you only got 100 yards in the 17 game season note your typo bro... But it's so unimpressive though and I'm not saying he looked impressive I believe he finished top 12 I mean we had a guy on a team that was decimated by injuries nothing was going well on either side of the ball and he got 1000 yards yes isolated on an island that is a very good thousand yards.

Think about the circumstance in which he had to play in.... Especially he got most of his yards after Prescott already went down playing with Cooper Rush saying that's not impressive is is a little bit of a slap in the face I get what you're saying it's easier to accomplish but then how come if you look at the league would you like me to give you a screenshot? I mean everyone thought it was pretty cool when Tony Pollard got his 1000 yards and stole our $11 million before he went to the Titans but again with the Titans he only got around 1000 yards look it may still be easier to achieve in the 17 game season but not a lot of players are doing it you have a couple that are shattering it but everyone else are just barely making it over a thousand yards...

So only 16 running backs broke 1000 yards last year and Rico was #12 on the list tied with one Tony Pollard the starter for the Titans so it may not be that impressive to you but apparently the rest of the league was really close because Only seven of them had over 1200 yards and obviously Saquon Barkley shattered all those records followed by Henry but other than that

By the way what actually matters more is out of those 16 players that had over 1000 yards only eight of them had more yards per carry then Rico so he had a guy like Naji Harris had 1000 yards but only four yards per carry rico was at a over 1000 yards at 4.6 yards per carry... I remember when people wanted that Najee Harris guy over here some of these other guys in this group and they weren't really better than Rico..

I mean in your mind there should be a 3000 yard rusher a couple 2000 yard rushers and a whole bunch of guys with 1500 yards but that's not the case..
Dude, our run game last year sucked. It had no impact what so ever. You don't have to believe me, but I think Sanders and Williams will be a non factor this season. It's like Zeke and Dowdle. Our rookies will set the pace. Stop trying to wish upon a star and hope bums become princes. It's not going to happen.

I like his speed, but he has a lot of negatives.

I had hoped for a RB1 early, but they seem to like the kid.

I think we should be cautious before we all buy Blue jerseys.

The more I read his Bio……red flags.
This is why he was still around in the 5th round and why it’s silly that some fans here have already anointed him. A lot of fans anointed Darius Jackson and Bo Scarborough…Ooops!

I think he can be a very good rb in the future. I don't expect to see a ton of him this upcoming season with his inexperience and fumbling issues.

He fumbles b/c he has very small hands.

They can work on it though. Maybe gloves and fumble drills.

That remains to be seen. He’ll be part of the competition. We’ll see how he does this summer. Blue is the same size and has the same speed as Darius Jackson who we drafted in the 6th round in 2018. He only lasted one season in the NFL. Not saying Blue will end up like him because we had Zeke. With what we have at RB Blue should get a good opportunity but your boy Deuce is likely done with the Cowboys.
Darius Jackson had zero instincts and zero elusiveness,.. strictly a str8 liner.

Didn;t even amount to a mere journeyman.
