Could RB Jaydon Blue be Tony Pollard 2.0?

.. to be honest, I get good feeling he's going to be better than Pollard. Power to break tackles, but deadly speed to outside and open field.

Get ready for Dallas football again.
What people underestimate are his jukes. I compare him to Achane, but Blue has better jukes.

Also, Blue can legit play the slot some. You can do a lot with him.

We have severely lack a RB that instantly bring speed and home run threat ability since pre-injury Tony Pollard in 2022.

- Pollard was instant explosive, and impressed the NFL as such that he even earned a Pro Bowl nod.
Too bad the Niners playoff ankle injury completely turned the tide on his Cowboys career.

- But Longhorn RB Jaden Blue might bring his own shade and impression, if he has durability, coach coach scheme and
support cast himself.

- Supposedly 4.2 clock speed at his Pro Day,...4.34 at the NFL combine,...and he had a number of break open plays at UT
Plus he offers some dangerous receiving skills, that we saw far too little from Pollard who never had a chance to develop
in that area under the previous coach staff.

- Opposing defenses really fear the heck outta game-breaking speed guys ..ala Barkley, Gibbs, Henry, James Cook, McCaffrey, etc. if used and utlized right, Cowboys may have some semblance of such explosive weaponry.
Has that potential, but must fix his fumbling issues or his snaps will be limited

True. I think they eventually got better. I mean, he's still gonna do it occasionally. All players do. But it has been his biggest flaw.

I honestly think he's a better pro player than college. He can fix the fumbling and you just have to make the defense account for him.

I believe Blue is faster than Pollard was. But RBs are more than just speed. I like Blue a lot and love his HR potential. We have to see h ow many snaps they give him and how they use him.
Agree.

I like the pick. Beause we have to.

No choice.

Blue wasn’t ranked high in the draft though.

Those Bios are usually correct.

He has small hands.

Simply put, yes but probably not right away. RBs for the most part have a short shelf life (Emmitt, Adrian Peterson being exceptions to the rule).

Blue has 214 carries on his body coming out of UT in a RB-by-committee backfield. By comparison, Zeke had 592 carries.

Blue had 42 catches for 6 TDs last year. His ability to catch outta the backfield will be his calling card early on.

Once he puts about 10lbs on his 196lb frame I think then he will be ready for bellcow consideration.

He can. He played slot quite a bit for a RB. He does everything smoothly. I love watching him play.

He also had limited carries in high school as he didn’t play his senior year. There are things he has to improve. Hopefully more real game reps will do the trick.

Hopefully they finally figure out how to run a successful screen pass.
this! And hit blue in stride. Ewers took a major back step this year but what that kid could do really well was hitting the rbs in stride upfield.

Dorsett was faster, Blue is bigger.
Dorsett was wicked fast. He was 28 years old when he ran that 99 yard TD, and was a step slower. Still faster than anyone not named Darrell Green. But Blue looks really fast too. Lets see how fast he looks against the pros.

First I heard the Jahmyr Gibbs comparison and then the Tony Pollard.
Hopefully he can produce at either one of those guys' level.

I hope so. He reminds me of that RB the Patriots had back in 2016, White? He scored the winning TD in the SB. Very fast and good catching out of the backfield.
