Yeah no matter what you think of Brady, that appeal he lost kills any chance of Zeke taking this to court and getting anywhere.

Here's why: the appeal the NFL won didn't find Brady guilty of deflategate. Rather, it found that the CBA basically gives Goodell unlimited power to punish without any oversight, so it doesn't matter if Brady was innocent or guilty, or if the punishment process was fair at all - the punishment stands regardless.

Zeke and the Cowboys have no recourse at all, because the courts ruled that the CBA lets Goodell do whatever he wants to punish players, without any appeal to anybody but Goodell himself.

If this makes you think the NFLPA is the most inept union in all of sports, well, you're probably on to something.

This is correct, but, to view it as an outsider, did the NFL or NFLPA violate Zekes civil rights? I am sure they have the legal knowledge to know where the NFL messed up. The speed of the investigation, plus the severity of the penalty in comparison to others is not correct. This issue, if it was one, should be dealt on the team level.

The Brady case has absolutely nothing to do with Elliott
Brady was an in game rules violation

EE is a DV suspension with its own set of rules that were never ratified by the NFLPA
If EE is unhappy with the NFL appeal he can 100% go to Federal Court for a stay and then sue the NFL to overturn the appeal....... he may not win but it is at least 50-50 with the other DV cases not getting 6 games and EE not even getting charged...... just because the NFL claims the power to punish without charges that has yet to be challenged in court

Nothing in the DV policy conflicts with the Conduct policy it falls under. It doesn't need to be ratified by the NFLPA. The only thing there could be a question is with the Commissioner's list, and there was already an arbitration hearing on that which ruled in the NFL's favor.

So you're saying I shouldn't draft him high in fantasy?

Too many variables. Not sure how long the NFL will take on the appeal. Depends on how important the early season is to your fantasy team, etc. And there are a few other possible things that might indicate the NFL not applying the CBA process appropriately. I think the statement regarding victim shaming was a major goof on their part.
