Could someone explain "Strength of Victory"?

Wait a minute, before you get to “strength of victory” the NFL lists W/L of common games.

We WON agInst the Jets, they LOST. What about that?

TIE BREAKER RULES

Two Clubs​

  1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
  4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
  5. Strength of victory in all games.
  6. Strength of schedule in all games
  7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed in all games.
  8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed in all games.
  9. Best net points in common games.
  10. Best net points in all games.
  11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
  12. Coin toss

If Dallas beats Miami and Philly beats Arizona, it’s a wash. On to the next tiebreaker….

In a tie breaker situation at the end of the season with the Cowboys and the Eagles? I mean didn't we both lose now to someone in another division (Cardinals, they loss to the Seahawks)
We really need Seattle and Detroit to finish strong.

This part. We knew we needed to beat the Eagles in our first matchup, and if we would have, we wouldn’t be having this conversation at all right now.
Yea I mean if they just went undefeated we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Beating teams with winning records is more impressive than piling up points against scrubs.
Not really.

A 3-score win against a 5-6 team is a lot more meaningful than a last-second field goal against a 6-5 team.
