pick in the first round for Dallas' 28 and say a fourth and Ayodele? This gets them in a better position because the talent drops off around 22 according to scouts.

Let me get this straight.

Dallas gives up:
#28
4th rounder
Ayodele

Tennessee gives up:
#24
Pacman

Is that what you're saying?

Wait, are you saying...

We get:

Pacman
Tennessee's first (24)

They get

Our second first (28)
Our Fourth
Akin Ayodele

?????

Ummm....no thanks. WAAAYYYYYYY too much.

That is, again, far more complicated trade matter than are needed in this deal. There is no need for multiple picks, or another player for that matter, to be factored in.

I thought the whole great thing about trading for him is we wouldn't have to invest much into him?

I agree you.

But throw 'em Bobby Carpenter and we have a deal.

Well, let's break it down. According to the trade chart (not perfect, but roughly accurate), moving up from 28 to 24 would cost about 80 points. Our pick in the 4th is worth about 50 points give or take.

So, if those two cancel each other out roughly, we'd be essentially swapping Ayodele for Pacman. I'm all for that.

Calculus comes to the Zone.

j/k

No, I doubt very seriously that would happen. It'll be a straight swap more likely. Most likely the conditional type since he is not removed from suspension yet.

Right, there'd really be two separate trades.

Looking at the value chart, why don't we just trade our #22 for their #24? That's worth about 40 points, or a high 5th round pick, which is about what he's worth. We keep all our picks and still get Pac.

We could even throw in a 7th if they want it.

If we're targeting someone in particular that we absolutely need to have at 24...that won't be there at 28...I'd agree. I just don't see that being the case. I really don't feel that there are ANY players in this draft that we absolutely need. I'd rather have our fourth...I think there some serious value there this year.

This would be an absolute value trade...I want some conditions placed on it given the circumstances.

The value of the trade works out but why would the Titans want to trade down now? That could be a draft day trade but you don't do a trade like this a month before the draft. You don't even know who the top pick will be let alone the top 23 picks. Someone can slide to 24 that the Titans would want to jump on.

what's the point of trading our 22nd pick for the titans 24th?

To get Pacman without giving up anything else.

Am I missing something?
