Could the aging O-line derail a super run again, just like 2010?

You mean a Divisional playoff run. We don’t engage in Super Bowl runs.

I love that Zak has ended his hold out. I think he is still a top 3 OG in the league. And Tyron is a monster, when he's healthy. But I'll be honest as I was thinking about our line in full, their ages, the experience and the injury history, it scared the heck out of me. I suddenly remembered the 2010 playoff loss to Minnesota. IMO we had a great team that year. Because they were so good, the age of the O-line was ignored and it caught up to them, seemingly all at once in that game. Could that happen again within the next couple of years?

We seem to be relying very heavily on a couple of older great players, with very little depth behind them. Either one or both could take a turn down hill at any moment. If Zac and Tyron were to both stumble to injury, age or whatever, what will the line look like? Could we survive a playoff run with Ball and Edoga starting? I don't think so.

No offense to Spoon, but I think they/we may very well end up regretting drafting a future TE with upside instead of drafting a starting caliber OG in rd2 of this draft.
This team needs to make a move, a FA pick up or a trade, to secure more quality O-line depth, before it costs them another Super Bowl run, again.
teams that stay healthy, have the best chance. I was reading an article a few days ago (can't remember where), that Eagles, Cinci and KC had the least amount of games lost for OL due to injuries. it says a lot about importance of continuity for the OL. that's why depth and good depth is critical.

That's awesome. So it wasn't Tony Romo's fault. It was Dak Prescott - while he was in High School - that caused the Cowboys to fail.
Exactly how many yards did Dak throw for and how many touchdowns did Dak have in 2010? That big fat zero looms large over the team's failures.

Being in High School? Just more apologetics. When are people going to stop making excuses for him?

With an aging O-line and no real depth to speak about with a less than mediocre, over hyped and over paid QB, it's going to be a long year!

 Only in this place. you cant make this up
I didn't see Dak contributing anything to the team at all in 2010. Offensive line or not.

The 90's line couldn't have even made his lack of contribution look good.

Depth is a concern.

The O-line is good enough right now, but we have to address LT next year 100% imo.

I am still pissed Dallas did not take OG O'Cyrus Torrance in the 2nd round instead of the TE.
Solari on draft day told the guys on the draft coverage that they are looking for "athletic" offensive linemen. Bottom line is they didn't like Torrence.

Typically the Cowboys pick OT's and move them to OG.

The last time the Cowboys won a Super Bowl, three of the starters on the offensive line in that game were 35 years or older.

Let’s hope it was the right choice. I have my doubts but I’m used to double guessing the front office.

Well he has so far been athletically running over defenders so give me that over the aging guys.

The premise that Dallas is 2 OL injuries away from not being able to make a playoff run is true for every team.

What if Lane Johnson (33) and Travis Kelce (36) go down?

No team can accommodate those kinds of losses.
If Travis goes down, Andy Reid would be screwed.

Tyler moves to LT if Tyron out.

That means the #3 OG to start the season is the key to depth.

Edoga was good in 1 start at OG last season. Any news on his injury.

Farniok was passable in 2 starts last season.

McCarthy says Josh Ball is physically impressive. "Very strong and good athleticism. Just needs to keep working on technique/awareness."

Many other possibilities at OG. It's a position that a veteran can be acquired in-season.
