As it stands now, our next pick is the 40th overall (2nd round). I'm not that acquainted with the draft slotting points, but could a move back into the back end of the 1st round be feesible?

Who are the players you hope will drop?

I sort of doubt it... I think it would cost too much.

I would think that if someone the love falls to 34, 35 or so, they might think about going up to get them.

I was thinking that. If someone falls then I wouldn't be opposed to it

it would take our 2nd and 3rd (500 + 235) to move up to about 23 (760) or 23 (740)

Cam Jordan or Prince are worth that, to me. I don't even particularly like Prince but the money savings when TNew gets cut is tempting on the ledger.

There's a long way to go, but there's a lot of talent on board that could slip down.

I was hoping that too.. oh well.

Maybe if Jordan falls, but right now, with Pouncey gone, im hoping we don't trade up.

It always does, doesn't it?

That's why I like trading down usually. How many years have we watched the Stealers and Pats and other good teams have some top talent fall to them at the bottom of the first?

Like Cam Jordan falling into NE's lap...

I like the pick at 9. I would have rather traded back but I like Smith at 9.
Now at 40 I want Harris. I think he will be a shut down cover corner.
Still think we need to get Rackley and Ellis now which means we need a extra 2nd. Maybe trade back alittl ein the 2nd, pick up a 4th then package our 3rd and 4th for a 2nd and get Rackley and then trade next years 2nd for a early 3rd or another late 2nd and get Ellis. i know its a friday dream.

Our @michaelombardi says Pats will take Nate Solder

If that trade that Jacksonville made with the Commanders was on the table for us, we missed out. That would have netted us 16th pick in the 1st round and the 49th in the 2nd round.

Again, if it was even on the table for us.

Yep... Wow, just got Solder, so maybe those of us who didn't hate him aren't crazy.

Anyway, this thread reminds me: Anyone else hate the new format? One round doesn't seem like enough for one night.

I'm LOL, too...Bob Sturm just spent a couple minutes saying how Solder sucked, and also what a good drafter Belichick was. Then boom.

Dallas took for ever to pick so I think they were trying to get a trade done but just couldn't.

Unless we had Smith rated much higher on our board than any prospect at 16. Then we got our guy.. and we made a good decision.

That's my conclusion to.

It seems like all the talk about a group of players having the same grade may have been a charade. They must have had Tyron Smith as the clear #1 player on their board and didn't want to risk trading down and taking a lesser player.

If so, then they stuck to their convinctions and made the right choice.

Also, i know you were probably watching the war room like i was, and i didn't see them receive any phone calls that entire time they were sitting there waiting it out. So take that for what its worth.
