Could the surprise cut end up being Cole Beasley? The young guys seem to have a lot more upside than Cole does. Just a thought. I don't think we keep 6 wide receivers. Too much investment in one area of the team. Moreover, the guys we have probably won't make the practice squad. We have decisions to make. This one might be a logical choice.

I would be pretty surprised if it was to be quite honest. I don't believe he's going to be cut.

I mentioned this back before the OTA's. But now I can't see it. He does a lot on those 3rd down plays.
I doubt they keep 2 rookie WR's in Street and Boyd or Newsome, though he's been on PS last year, unless they keep 6.
If they keep 5 WR's, and cut Beasley, that means they most likely keep Byrd. Which I all for keeping him.
But can he or Street, or Harris reproduce what Beasley did last year. Right now I would say they do not.

I would like to see Dez, TWill, Harris, Beasley, Street, Byrd, and then Boyd & Newsome on the PS

I would not chance that for right now in releasing Beasley. I hope they keep 6 WR's.

Yes, this would be a "SURPRISE" cut..........but, it will not happen.

He is a very proven player from last year.

LOL this happens every year. Ditto with Dwayne Harris. People fall in love with the big WRs off the street in camp. Tell me one of those guys who did anything after we let them go? You have to go way way back - I'm talking in the current regime.

Don't get the disrespect for Beasley and Harris guys who have actually done some things in the NFL and will continue to help the Cowboys.

I hear you and agree
...but Andre Holmes looks okay in Oakland if you're looking for someone who found a home.

Harris especially is WAY too valuable to drop.

It may have been an exaggeration, but one writer recently called him one of the five most valuable players on the team.

Also keep in mind that at some point someone was cut to make room for Miles Austin too.
