Could this be the WOW - TO/Deion/Dawkins

All have said one thing or another that this offseason the Cowboys will make a big splash. I think TO mentioned to Dawkins that it's bigger than the Pats did last year. Which in my opinion would be hard to top. (Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Thomas). But here's my thought of what could be WOW.

1 - Let Flozell walk, saves us CAP money by not tagging him

2- Franchise Hamlin - costs roughly 5 million

3- Trade #28 and next years 3rd to Detriot for Roy Williams or #28 and Carp for Chad Johnson (I think Deion is leaning this way)

4 - big FA splash will be either Trufant or Samuel (this means next year Newman walks)

5 - #22 - draft Felix Jones

6 - 2nd round pick - CB

Doubtful. But the two first rounders bring so many more scenarios into play.

So we let Newman walk so we can overpay a lesser corner. Makes sense to me...

i like mcfadden but if jones is just as fast as him who the hell cares. trade one for roy williams. (Established receiver) draft jones with the other pick if he is still around ( kind of sick of jones at our rb but this guy is much faster than juilius is or ever will be ) look at the cb's in FA see if one will take a smaller contract for a chance to win. if not trade some late round picks and get a high second or what not and develop one. franchise hamlin see if flo will restructure to win.

i usually hate doing that speculation but i had to say something this time.

I sincerely hope we aren't thinking about shelling out the loot for a 100 million dollar CB.

DRAFT!

Trufant and Samuel or not less of a CB than Newman. I think Newman is a top 5 CB but so are the other two. Folks around here say that even though Newman is 30 his body doesn't have the wear and tear of 30. I say crap on that, 30 is 30 and Newman is already showing signs of wear and tear. So do you pay Trufant/Samuel 80 million this year or Newman 80 million next year when he will be 31, so at 36 he is still drawing CB money. Business wise it makes no sense to sign Newman next year.

Newman is two years older than Trufant and Samuel. And he's better than both.

So you don't think other teams look at Carpenter and say "There's a mistake I want to inherit?" C'mon man, Parcells drafted this guy in the first round. That means he's got... something?

I'd have to believe Spears has SOME value, where as Carp might fetch a ham sam.
