Could We Still Have Rivera with Phillips? I'm not sure if it would make sense with Rivera being a 4-3 guy. We know that changing Zimmer from a 4-3 to 3-4 didn't work out too well. I just think Rivera is a great DC. Just wanted to get some thoughts.

How 'bout them Cowboys!!!

Nothing is impossible, but let me say I highly doubt it.

I would love it, but I just don't expect that at all.

Agreed.

Do not see why Rivera would even consider it personally.

There were two scenarios of why Rivera would come to Dallas as a DC.

1. Money
2. To get out of Lovies shadow and in doing so possibly increase his stock.

Now number one could happen.

Number two would seem to be a draw now with wade. Plus Wade will be going 3-4 not something Rivera is well versed in.

Chances are that Jerry will Push Todd B as Wade's DC. Unless wade has someone in mind to come in that already knows his system.

I completely agree with thought here. However, just to throw it out there,, Rivera might want to come to dallas under wade,, he would learn a new system under another coach that is considered a GREAT defensive Mind. It might increases his chances at a HC gig, if he isn't known as just a "Cover 2" guy. And really Rivera would be there to provide leadership and motivation, Wade would still be in charge of the D. But I don't think it will Happen.

No chance. If Rivera was going to be DC, Norv would be the head coach.

Doubt it -- a more interesting scenario is if we can get Caldwell over here. If the reports that Norv thought Garrett wasn't ready to run the O are true then it would be nice to have another solid offensive mind -- no idea how we could get Caldwell on the staff though

I don't see Rivera coming on board now, but that's one price I'm happy to pay if it means no Al Gore...errrr I mean Norv in Dallas.

Hopefully hiring Phillips will slam the door on Rivera and the Tampa 2 defense.

I would like to see Mike Singletary as DC! I think he is ready to take over as a DC somewhere. His leadership style and history as a HOF player will make him very successful somewhere, here would be a great start!

From my understanding Singletary squashed the idea of coming to dallas as a DC.

Hello everybody!

I agree, i'll like to see Mr. Singletary as a DC of the Dallas Cowboys under Phillips, his motivation and knowledge will be a great addition to our defense.

I wanted to see Jerry take a chance with Singletary as head coach, if it blew up then throw money at Cowher.
