An opportunity may be brewing.
If Stephen and Jerry decide to hold strong, and so does Zeke, there could be an underlying silver cloud to it all. Unintended and unwanted, perhaps, but a positive side nonetheless.
Before we watch $35 million or more get devoted to cap space for years to come, wouldn't it be nice to watch Dak with this receiving corps for 5 games without Zeke? Let him carry this offense like the big boys do for a spell, and show that he can win that way convincingly.
I'm not talking about 19-16 nail-biters. I'm talking about carving up teams all over the field with demonstrably better personnel than his opponents, and leaving no doubt against the Giants, Commanders, and Dolphins before going toe-to-toe with Drew Brees in an air shootout.
What a perfect prove-it scenario.
If he passes the test, back up the truck and pay him $40 million a year. Wouldn't even bat an eye. The next decade is locked up and is going to be fun.
If he doesn't, then save yourself from making a colossal mistake.
I'd much rather Zeke get in here soon, but there's a positive to this either way.
