I disagree with that last part. There's no quarterback option whatsoever, so Dak had a lot of leverage here. I just don't think he believes in the notion of not honoring a contract, which I can fully respect. Or, Zeke beat him to the punch and stole his mojo, but I don't think that was it.

I can't for the life of me understand why he turned down $30 million. That was his lottery ticket. My guess is, the offer wasn't that heavy in guaranteed money, so it isn't what we've been told. Numbers are easy to throw around. The details matter.

If he did turn that down with big guaranteed money, he's a fool and needs to fire his agent immediately.

You draft one in the first round and go get a veteran. You can't devote 20+ percent of your cap space to a third-tier quarterback who needs elite talent all around him to be effective.

If they sign these three guys, they'll have 6 offensive players that are among the top-paid at their positions. New England has zero.

That isn't sustainable. With Jaylon and LVE, Dallas could ultimately have 75% of their cap devoted to 8-9 guys.

Nah, this isn't a Garrett thing. This is partly just the product of GREAT drafting. If you draft poorly, you don't have these issues. You just let dudes go.

It's really not anybody's fault. Dak is what he is. He's not bad at all, but he's not close to elite. But he's a quarterback, so all logic is just thrown out the window.

Blame the Vikings and 49ers. They screwed this up.

I believe no such deal for 30 million was offered to Dak.
Why you might ask.
Just some simple common sense here as not even the Jones are sold on him no matter what they say in public.
If they were just like Wentz he would have been signed 2 months ago.
There non-belief in Dak will result in the extension of Zeke prior to kick-off.

They probably offered him $30 million a year, but with all sorts of outs in the agreement that made the guaranteed money somewhere around $60 million or so.

His agent is probably wanting guarantees well over $100 million, which thankfully they don't seem interested in doing at all.

They keep blowing all this sunshine all over Dak and Zeke publicly, while negotiating ultra tough in the background.

Cap cap and more cap and there now about to squander it on Dak who isn't a top ten QB ......not happening!
Dak will play for his deal this season unless he takes a real gutter deal knowing that's pretty much all his talent allows.
We will find out by the end of the upcoming season if we're looking for a new QB.
