Philly didn't win but they did give the rest of the league the blueprint on how to beat us or at the very least make life hard. Hopefully we can come up with some plays to counter the blitz to stop teams from sending everything at dak. Some quick screens to Zeke or some delayed draws. What say you zone?

first you need to be able to identify where the blitz is coming from. They could not do that against the eagles.

San Fran use to eat-up blitz's by hitting slant patterns using off of a 3-step drop.

If the receiver wasn't tackled immediately he was "off to the races".

Some of them were just all out blitzes and having more men lined up than we had blocking a few second before the snap... we should have recognized them...

Dallas didn't expect the blitz so it took a while for them to adjust. Philly hadn't done that in their previous games this season.

Now that Dallas has some film to study, you can expect that they will be able to have Dak handle it better. Other than the injuries to the secondary, this was almost a perfect case scenario. Tons of "teachable moments" and they still came away with the victory. Dak gets more confidence that he can rebound from adversity too.

HIt a few long balls for TDs and 21 points will quickly make those blitzes seem like the worst idea ever. They are capable, just need to execute. It's the teams that can cause havoc only rushing 4 that you need to be afraid of.

Yes many were just overload rushes not necessarily blitzes but the same principle. Dak and Fred need to get together, this is where Romo's knowledge pre-snap helps Fred set the protections. IIRC Dak is not making protection calls, yet.

We should have been better prepared for this coming off the bye. Now it will get addressed and Dak has experienced it and beat it so no worries from me. Garrett has this handled. After the fact but at least it's handled.

This reminds me of Michael Robinson on NFLN talking about wanting Russell Wilson to change plays during his rookie year. Except he couldn't because he didn't know enough playbook. He said it took most Russell's rookie season before he was able to recognize things and make calls once he had a decent handle on the playbook. Dak will learn.

I would not say he beat, they did it until the end of the 4th. Philly went away from it in OT because of the nature of OT, one blown assignment and the game would have been over.

So true Winicki...so true. Babe mentioned that Dallas needs to sprinkle in slants to Dez inside the red zone since teams are playing the fade down there. But, Dez is so good with the ball in his hands that it could be deadly when teams blitz.

What? They blitzed Sam Bradford the week before. They should have known they would blitz a rookie QB.

Yeah the last thing you want is your rookie QB setting a protection that may get him killed.

That's not totally true.

Eagles blitzed Minnesota the week before.

The blueprint was already out there, Philly just so happened to be the first team with the talent to implement it. I don't expect Dallas to be caught off-guard again vs blitzing.

Dak needs to learn from Romo on how to change the plays from scrimmage when he knows the blitz is coming. The delay blitz was what killed Dallas but we adjusted to it in the final quarter.

That big run was a delay draw to Zeke. I wish we would use that play more often and audible to make sure Zeke knows that the delay draw is coming.

Most of the league lacks the talent of Philly's front 7 so it won't be as easy for those teams to put the heat on like the Eagles did. You have to have the horses to try that tactic or it could backfire.
