Couple of early week thoughts about the Eagles

Have seen a ton of Eagle games this year, here are some of my thoughts:

-When the Eagles struggle they lean on Swift as a runner/receiver and Hurts legs. Take away Swift and the Eagles become easier to defeat.
-Jalen Hurts rarely stays in the pocket, likes to move right, where he makes a ton of big passing plays. Keep him inside the pocket.
-Hurts eats up man coverage, but really struggles against teams who play zone. Jets gave him fits in their loss this yr, will Quinn adjust?
-Eagle Defense plays that shell coverage in which they keep everything in front of them. Cowboys need to take what is giving and successfully run against light boxes.
-Do not know why the national meeting ever talks up Reddick, he is as good as any edge rusher in the entire league. Cowboys cannot allow him to wreck the game again.
-James Bradberry is the corner to watch, he is very instinctive, will leave his man when he sees what is coming, did this to Josh Allen.
-Cowboys must do a better job inside the red zone, this and the penalties got them beat down in Philly.
-Yes, cannot win committing so many penalties, must play cleaner football.

You should have just started and ended with that I highlighted it in red I mean the Cowboys always play the Eagles tough it's always seems to be a close game and most like when they're both healthy but it is who limits the mistakes or gets the bounces or the calls from the refs one way or the other the non calls bother me more than anything..... But this has been a problem even in the playoffs against the 49ers when you have 14 penalties in 2021 that was the sole reason we lost that game everybody wants to point blame at other areas of the team but you can't win with that many mental mistakes a lot of them were pre snap 11 on the offensive line and three on the DL...

Actually the Eagles don't scare me I always expect a close hard fought game by both sides it's a very good match up right now and and again you're correct play cleaner football the team that does that is gonna win the game..

The Eagles will come out running against us and will stick with it. It is their strength and our weakness. We need to make sure they understand early that will not work. Have to play disciplined and physical defense. No hero ball by Parsons or Bland. Team defense

Dans defences struggle against running QBs. I expect Hurts to move around and run much more

We have to play 2 real DEs. If Parsons is at DE we may as well give up right there because they will run right at him

We have to score TDs not FGs

We cannot run the ball and that will be a huge problem. Dak will need to use his legs. OL needs to show up big time.

MUST minimize penalties

Ferguson needs to have a big game

They have to have success on the early downs or they will struggle all night.

Just read a good article on Yahoos sports, how the 49ers game plan was to keep Hurts inside the pocket, especially taking away the B Gap. They stayed inside their lanes and took away Hurts rushing abilities.
This, in particular, is what Dallas needs to do this weekend. Don’t just pin their ears back and go after the QB… they need to play controlled and keep Hurts in the pocket as best as you can. Don’t let him scramble if there’s no one open.

Dallas needs to hold their lanes and play under control up front.

Will be interesting this week. Reading all the pros and cons, for both teams. As well as to what the pundits from the media say.

The present defensive tackles are good enough to do just that, and bring pressure from blitzes and the outside.

They lean on Swift when teams take away AJ Brown and big plays through the air. That is their engine.

Swift is a fallback who isn't good enough to be a gamebreaker with a high volume of touches, so teams don't care if he gets the ball 20 times.

Perhaps this might be a good game for Parsons to play more off the ball linebacker.

Swift has had a fantastic season and has played a major role why this team has won 10 games.

Yes, but will they?

It takes patience and guys to not necessarily be trying to make a sack, but to play within a larger scheme. Sacks are so tempting for DL.

That depends on success of other techniques in the interim. Combinations are tough against their offensive line. Things go better if the Eagles are just popped in their jaws...starting at their center. Yea, the Cowboys can match up there...(your views are always good) :starspin:
