in East-West Shrine Game. Admit I seldom watch college games so have nothing to compare them with except each other. Also admit I didn't see some of the big names I've read about in this game but:

1. Reggis McNeal sure looked good. Good arm & good runner. Showed leadership skills by moving West to 4 touchdowns, including 2 TDs he threw.
2. WR Mike Haas, 6-1, 210. This guy has good speed & hands; caught 1 TD or was it 2; from Oregon State. Ranked #132 on list of top 250 players.
3. FS Dwayne Slay, 6-2, 215 from Texas Tech also played well. Really knows how to hit & announcers mentioned East WRs were looking for him when they came near him & couple passes dropped as result. Don't know how good his coverage skills are.
4. WR Todd Watkins is another kid that looked pretty good.
5. QB Gradowski (sp?) also looked pretty good for the East.

I like Todd Watkins, he has serious deep speed. He'll go in the 4th.

Being at U of O, I've seen Haas a few times. He is a really good route runner with solid hands. He's not that fast though. He'll be a late pick.

WR - Coldcut at 6-4 made some monster catches

WR - Haas may be the real deal

RB - FSU Leon Washington has some giddy up

Haas is one of those guys who just knows how to play the game of football. Wayne Chrebet wasnt the biggest or fastest guy either, but he knew how to play football. Sometimes you gotta look past a player on paper and look at what he did on the field. I agree, Haas could be really good.

In the Hula bowl, Jeremy Mincey looked great. That's the 6'4 258 lb DE/OLB that will be converted into a linebacker. And the receiver B Marshall looked good.

Haas has around 4.5- 4.6 speed.

What he does best is create separation. I will be curious to see his combine.

I think he will be a good player.

Hopefully some of you saw Mincey, he was a man amongst boys out there today. Fast fast fast, DE that will be turned into a 3-4 OLB, and he can get after people. WOW! 3 sacks!

Slay looks like he has something to him...if he can cover he might be worth a look see in Rnd 4 or later

I've seen a few mocks with Slay in the 1st and 2nd rounds...albeit the mocks won't shake out very well until after the combine.
I like his size too, 6'4. If we got him, between he and Roy, WRs would refuse to run routes.

Slay is a big time playmaker. I really doubt he lasts past round 3.

He is a serious hitter and is excellent on special teams.
Vincent Meeks was th ebetter cover guy but they moved Slay to FS because he just put so much fear into WRs.

A bit like RW and may not be the best fit for us with a more pure coverage need but BP would love the way he tackles folks and plays ST.

Likely a 2nd round pick.

That would be real cool:cool: if he can cover and bring the wood... but it looks like I may have estimated wrong with the round...I wouldn't take him in the first though unless he really is the best of the rest...

Thanks JT I use to follow Tech players a lot closer as I use to go to 3 or so games a year...but if he can't cover he is no more help than beriault is...

If he lasts til the 4th round I'll be shocked.

You're most welcome.

What years did you attend Tech games?
I was #29 for 2 years in the early 90s.

You might have seen me uh warm up or something:)

I thought he had a better chance last year of being in the earlier rounds. I hope he does slip, so that would better our chances of fixing other areas, and then put the icing on the cake with a fast receiver like that.

His stock will rise fast at the combines. Fast and good hands.

You know Hos I didn't think of it that way. Players I had going in the 4th round or 3rd or whatever, they could easily move all the way up the board.

I hope Manny Lawson sucks at the combine.
