Courtland Sutton should be the pick at 19, in my opinion

Cowboys drafted 7 defensive picks last year, I would agree the defense needs help, but you can't just ignore the offense....

Maybe no Michael Irvin on the team now, but Sutton is no Irvin. His negatives:

• Faster cornerbacks squat on routes and consistently contest his catches
• Route wiggle is average and feel gradual rather than sharp
• Has tendency to coast by on size and scheme over pattern effort and technique
• Defaults to bodying smaller cornerbacks rather than working for cleaner windows
• Doesn't show much separation burst on first and second levels
• Inconsistent ball skills when adjusting late to throws
• Won't scare defenses with catch-and-run
• Can't get it cranked back up for yards after catch if he has to slow feet
• Struggled to get anything going against quality competition like TCU and UCF\

The ones I bolded are red flags, regardless of his physical skills. Maybe you can coach him up on those, but the "tendency to coast" is a huge concern, that's not a coachable thing, suggests to me he is successful mostly when he has a physical advantage, which he will seldom have in the NFL...

Only problem I see with Sutton is he doesn't get much separation as well. He can catch anything in his area code however.

You are buying potential
And at 19 you are paying a premium for it
To me too risky
Rather get a guy like miller who could impact right away but may not have as high a ceiling

I'm with you on Miller, but I'd have to hope he's there in the third, Cowboys need to go LB then OT, imho. With 8 receivers on the roster now, let's see what they can do before adding another to the mix...
