QB: Something seemed off with Tony Romo Sunday. His passes fluttered, he was quick to move out of the pocket, he wasn’t stepping into his throws, and his footwork was erratic. Is he hurt? Was it just a bad game? I don’t know, but he got hit hard early in the game (and late I might add) and that seemed to rattle his confidence. One general thing I noticed about the Cowboys offense on Sunday is that the pass plays were all designed outside of the numbers.
RB: You can basically copy and paste what I said about Joseph Randle and Phillip Tanner from last week and put it in here. They are both average backup running backs. But the Cowboys have a player in Lance Dunbar if he can figure out how to hold onto the ball. Dunbar is extremely quick in the open field and has the ability to make defenders miss. There were times when he was lined up out of the backfield verses a linebacker and the ball needs to be thrown to him. He is a big play waiting to happen.
WR: I was really excited this week to write an extra article about the emergence of Terrance Williams. He has been fantastic throughout the first half of the season. But despite his long catch and run touchdown vs the Lions, I was disappointed with the way he played. Williams was left one-on-one most of the day as you would expect, but only converted on two of his ten targets. I thought he dropped two balls that could have been game changing, one for a touchdown. Below is my evaluation of each target for Williams:
