Cajun, that is totally cool. The person who might be able to tell you more about it is CowboyJeff.

Thanks, I know of another autographed book I will need to add as well. :)

Once they were admitted to the league, they thought it would be too confusing with the Rangers baseball team so they changed the name to Cowboys.

The Texas Ramgers baseball team, didn't come until 1971.

Correct. if I am not mistaken, Clint Murchison's partner, Bedford Wynne, wanted to name them the Dallas Steers and Tex said Dallas Cowboys and it has been genius.

That's believable too. That whole Wynne family, from Shannon and Angus' generation, too Toddie Lee and Angus G's, the Wynne "dynasty" is as eccentric as it is rich!

Here's an few paragraphs about the Wynne's. References to Aikman and the Cowboys in both pieces.

Wasn't it a minor league team? Then what was Brandt talking about?

Yes you're right. They didn't occur to me.

Dallas Rangers with the AAA American Association, which folded after 62 season. They'd only been called the Rangers since 58, and 61-62 they'd finished dead last in record and attendance.

Cool. I thought Brandt knew what he was talking about. Don't sweat it. We all make mistakes....

Well, except for me of course, that goes without saying. :D

Hey Cajun, did the guy selling it know how rare it was, or did you get a great deal, if you don't mind me asking.

I got it and some other things at an estate sale. The guy didn't mind because he was dead.

Yea, I got that part. In the original post, you said you got it from a "guy who was selling off an estate", so I was wondering if the person running the sale knew it's value, or if they had no clue and were selling it like any other random book you'd find at those things.

Oh, I doubt it, but I bought this and the Emmitt Zone Autographed book along with some other things. I got a Die cast truck that had the last SB logo on it and it was signed by Emmitt, Troy and Michael along with some autographed mini helmets. I think I paid 100.00 for the lot.

BTW, the emmitt book is selling for over 500.00 on ebay. Yikes!
