Unless Favre wants to get hammered on each drop back, he'll be relegated to throwing shorter routes, which the defensive backs will begin jumping as the game progresses.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the Packers will expose Brett Favre by using empty sets as often as they have recently. Many of Dallas' opponents, including New England, have been forced to go max protect on pass plays.

Favre has excellent pass protection from his O-Line. The guy has only been sacked 14 times this season. They have faced some pretty good pass rushers and most never got close to Brett.

Other than week 2 against the Giants when they were completely discombobulated, Green Bay has not faced a pair of pass rushers like Ware and Ellis.

If they bring the 5 WR set, it would almost be worth a roughing the passer penalty to just pummel Favre a few times so that they don't go back to it.

I believe the poster meant based on the games that have actually been played SO FAR. Future opponents not withstanding...

Thats a 1 game difference.

I was referring to their entire schedule this year in my first post

Even so, future opponents have little relevence as it is yet to be determined: A) how either team, Dallas or Green Bay, will fare against their respective future opponents, and B) whether the past AND future opponents close with a flourish, continue on current pace, or tank down the stretch.

In short, all we have to go on is today - and the past leading up to today.

So far... the opponents the Packers have played have the better W-L record - even though the margin is slim.

If the "Big Five" can't be stopped, why don't they use it all the time?

No matter how you dissect both of these defenses. They are of similar strength. I personally think Dallas is slightly better and our offense is better as well. It's going to be a good game, like the old days.

That's not really true in GB's case. Most of GBs games have been relatively close until the last 3 or so. They have had a lot of 1 score games.
You may not watch a lot of Packer games gut they arent that close until the Pack goes into the god forsaken prevent defense. They did it against the Giants, Vikings, Vikings again, Panthers, and the Lions.

Dallas all around has the batter team. Its the matchups thats on GBs side.

The Boys defence will get alot better once Henry gets his starting job back and they can put Reeves' butt back on the bench where he truly belongs. Not to mention the shot in the arm the offence will get once TG gets back on the field hopefully soon

the quick release that Favre possesses is a big factor in the number of sacks he has taken...o-line pass blocking is heavily influenced by the proficiency of the quarterback behind center...

I've seen enough. 3 of the teams you mentioned were the last 3 weeks which I said are the exceptions mainly, and they were in a close game with Min. the first time. They didn't crush Min. at all that game.

They were close vs. Philly, close vs. Min, close vs. Wash, close vs. Denver, close vs. SD, and close with KC.
