Cowboy - Packers comparisons and the Draft

Packers 5:

Clay Matthews, Aaron Rodgers, BJ Raji, Charles Woodson, Greg Jennings.

I'd take our 5.

I think packers actually have a big 6. Jermichael Finely is a beast

Yeah take Sean Lee for instance.

Supposedly the Cowboys had a 1st round grade on him and that guy couldn't get off a block to save his life last season.

We need some luck for sure.

He did show instincts and intensity.

we are not as talented as they are. ON defense and offense. Our OL is not talented and need 4/5 of it replaced. we need DEs, Safties which we don't have. we also lack depth.

i know you want to believe this but its just not fact.....

they are not more talented on offense and on D their secondary is better but our front 7 is better.....

their o line sux....and ours does as well but we only need 2 replaced (Davis and Columbo)

really?

Clifton -- pro bowl
Sitton -- maybe the best guard in the NFC --appearing on all pro lists
Buluga -- played plenty good for a rookie 1st rounid pick RT

I'd say they were above average.... Certainly not great.

D-Ware, Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, Tony Romo, Jay Ratliff, Jason Witten, Doug Free.

Clay, Rodgers, Finley, Tramon, Collins, Woodson, Jennings.

Its about even but there Safety play is a big reason they are top of the League in Defense.

Breakdown Position by Position.

QB - Packers
RB - Just about even Leaning Towards Cowboys cause of Felix.
FB - Packers
WR - Another Hard position to choose mostly because Romo was hurt most of the Year. So ill list it EVEN.
TE - Cowboys
LT - Cowboys
LG - Cowboys
C - Cowboys
RG - Packers
RT - Packers
DE - Packers
NT - Cowboys
OLB - Cowboys
ILB - Cowboys
Secondary - By far Packers, but we have to potential to be on-par with them.

We're closer than even the more optimistic fans think.

It's hard to see that coming off 6-10.

But if you take a few steps back, you can gain the proper perspective.

This 6-10 in no way resembles our 2004 6-10. Now that's a good starting point. And from there you look at why it doesn't.

What does this team have that that 2004 team not have? If you go through that exercise, our 2011 prospects look a lot better.

LT -- Free over Chad Clifton?
NT -- Ratliff over BJ Raji? I don't think there is a GM in the league who would pick Ratliff -- and I love Ratliff. Raji is the PROTOTYPE 3-4 NT.
OLB -- I think this is a wash. Packers got 20 1/2 sacks out of Matthews / Zombo / Walden at OLB.
ILB -- Are you kidding? You'd take Brady James and Brooking over AJ Hawk, Desmond Bishop, and Nick Barnett?
Secondary -- We don't have the potential to be on par-with them. They have three legit pro-bowlers AND Sam Shields at Nickle back

Listen, I think our talent is way better than 6-10, however, I think people need to stop believing the Cowboy kool-ade that our roster in any way compares to the Packers.

Yes, Free is better and younger than Chad Clifton

Yes, Ratliff is better than B.J. Ratliff is Double Teamed every play and is still
Disruptive. Raji gets single blocked almost 90% of the time.

Are you serious? The only reason they have that many Sacks with their OLBs is cause they Blitz Woodson just as much as there OLBs, So there OLBs go unblocked Almost 40% of the time, Cause teams have to account for Woodson off the Edge!

On ILB, I was accounting Sean Lee also and his Potential to be pretty darn good when he takes the starting Position. Also in this terrible season Bradie James still had more Tackles than all the Packers ILB!

If we were to get a Legit Safety then you would see our secondary Perform like the Packers did with Nick Collins!

Tramon Williams is a better player than J.Finley.

Tramon had a good year, great playoffs. Even though his first pick against Atlanta he was absolutely toasted and Ryan blew it.

But, I would still give Finley the nod. Too bad he got hurt, guy wouldve torn it up. He is an absolute freak and is what we envisioned 'Tellus could be.

I think you are drinking the Kool-laid if you think any GM would pick Ratliff over Raji as a 3-4 NT. Ratliff has been one of my favorite players for a number of years, however, Raji is a 350 pounder with legit pass rush skills AND he is only 24 years old.

Ratliff is a good pass rusher (or was) but doesn't have the bulk required to ideally play NT in the 3-4.

Brohan. Raji is better. Also the packers had alot of injuries at Lb so their tackles were lower. Burnett, Chillar, Poppinga...yadda yadda
