So the QB predetermines where he will go and locks on to his first read and there are no other options ?
Secondly you have no way of knowing what his "first read" was unless you have the playbook

It's kind of clear by the match-up what the first read is.
What do you consider "locks on"? The throw was made quickly. If he comes off of Dez to go to Bease (who may be 3rd or 4th progression), he's sacked. That's a worse result.
The QB predetermines his progressions, not necessarily where he will go (though they are probably pretty sure when they snap most of the time).
You want Bease to be the first read because you watched the replay and saw him open. You ignore the defense and how they were lined up. You ignore how QBs read and go through progressions. You saw Beasely open, so to you, the rest is irrelevant.
