I'd like him to play, but at this point, my main concern that we're not witnessing the beginning of a Charles Haley/Jay Novacek style decline due to back injury.
As much as I'd like to see Tyron play, I surely don't want the staff to put him at risk of undue injury for the sake of one game. I have great confidence that they'll err on the side of caution. They've been extremely cautious with their walking wounded, although there are times when re-injury can't be helped. The Cowboys organization is reputed to have some of the best medical doctors and trainers in the business.
I'd imagine there's a fine line between being completely rehabbed and healed, although it's not always an exact science. As generously as these exceptional athletes like Tyron Smith are being paid and developed, I'm confident that the staff will be cautious not to rush them back prematurely, only to see their high-dollar investments and efforts go to waste. I think that would hold true even before a crucial divisional game with the Eagles.
