CowboysZone Mock Draft

NEW ENGLAND is on the clock at #22

Vote how you think the team WILL draft (not how they should draft)

I'll provide at least 8 choices for each team (sorry if I don't include your favorite and you're welcome to email me suggestions prior to a team's choice)

I'll leave the option out there for at least 4 hours unless it is so unanimous that I can go on to the next team. When we move on, I'll make a post saying the counting for that draft slot has ended and what the verdict is

Results so far

1. St. Louis, SAM BRADFORD, QB, Oklahoma
2. Detroit, NDAMUKONG SUH, DT, Nebraska
3. Tampa Bay, GERALD McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
4. Washington, RUSSELL OKUNG, OT, OK. St.

Jared Odrick makes a lot of sense here as a five technique.

They need a safety opposite Meriweather so I'm going:

Earl Thomas

A trade down with Dallas is possible, but the cost is going to be high. There will be lots of teams that are going to try and move up to grab Thomas here. The Boys are better off seeing who's available at their pick, possibly move down if a team falls in love with Colt McCoy.

I think you may be right. I think plenty of teams will try to leap frog the Eagles and get Thomas if he falls this far.

Earl Thomas.

Wow, Merriweather and Thomas in the same defensive backfield! The pats already do a great job confusing QBs... imagine the ways belicheat could disguise coverages with these two guys.

Thomas should have been gone by now, but you'll know we're being homers if Philly passes on him.

In fact, the way it's going, he'll be an Eagle.

I had him going to Miami @ 12. It's not my fault the draft turned out this way.:laugh1:

Reason being - The Patriots picked up Chung last year and they have have a bunch of 2nd rounders (#44,47,53) this year. They also have the possibility of STILL getting Odrick @ 27. They can get their FS in the 2nd if needed.

He should of gone earlier and there is no way I'll vote the Eagles pass on him.

You don't think Dallas would try to trade with these teams if he dropped into the 20s? Why not?

I've been choosing toeams to select Thomas maybe 10 picks ago, but once he makes it this far, I think Philly and Dallas both would try to trade for him.

The only team that really surpised me that Thomas didn't go to was New York. I thought he would maybe go there. The Houston one was a tossup, but I still thought he'd go there.

These people are NOT trying to make him fall. For example, Odrick is a much greater need to NE than Thomas would be. But have them trading anyway because they don't have a 3rd rounder and could maybe recoup it.

I agree. They could trade down easily if they wanted.

Agreed 100%. When the Eagles are up and ET isn't off the board yet, I'll go with Philly taking him. He shouldn't have dropped this far.
