COWBOY ZONE MOCK DRAFT—PK 27: DALLAS is on the clock 4/17, 1:15 pm--

Mays.

This is really highlighting why I wouldn't want to move down very far or at all. Just look at the quality options that are going to be available at 27. It's a good spot to be in. We're certainly going to get a very good player.

So what is everones love affair with Pouncey all about? Im not knocking, just looking for honest opinions. I see him as a good prospect, but his pick here at 27 shouldnt be a no brainer compared to the other prospects available in my opinion.

I see a lot of people saying he can start at day 1. Doesnt the fact that Florida's offense is about as far away from a pro offense possible worry anyone? Also, the fact that he only snapped the ball traditionally a hand full of times in his career doesnt worry anyone? His measurables and workout times also arent exactly jaw dropping. So someone please enlighten me as to why Pouncey is the obvious pick for us.

He will most likely start out as a guard at the Pro level. He is strong and can handle a nose one on one, he is quick out of his stance and has the power to drive block his opponent. He can play all three interior positions. No scout has stated that they feel his transition from Florida's offense to the Pro level will be a problem for him. Seems like a good pick in an area of need.

Trade down (picks 35-41)

There's 10 or 11 guys on that list that I would like to have. I'd really burn up the lines trying to trade down,

Florida's offense is built around many pro style concepts. That being said, the OL is the same no matter what offense you run. With the exception of Texas Tech. Those wide spreads they took under Leach make it difficult to truly judge.

Is it really THAT big of a need though? Do you really feel more comfortable with Allen Ball/Hamil at FS or Doug Free starting at LT than Koiser at OG? Im not saying we have to reach for a player at 1 of those positions, but trading down and acquiring more picks to fill all of our needs is the best way to go in my opinion.

Pouncy

I don't think he will be there, though.

Broddas says he will be gone.

Demaryius Thomas, WR, Ga Tech - DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want him, why not take the trade down option and still get him plus recoup a 4th and 5th?

He's probably the next WR off the board, so you couldn't trade down too far and still get him. He's a possibility for the Rams. If I'm trading down for a WR, I think I'd want Benn. Love that guy.

Maurkice Pouncey, C/G, Florida.

It makes good sense. I don't think they're done with O-Line. Don't be surprised to see a Tackle on day 2. If Iupati was still available, I see him going here.
