Is it really THAT big of a need though? Do you really feel more comfortable with Allen Ball/Hamil at FS or Doug Free starting at LT than Koiser at OG? Im not saying we have to reach for a player at 1 of those positions, but trading down and acquiring more picks to fill all of our needs is the best way to go in my opinion.
They're whole philosophy is to take someone that shouldn't be there if possible. Not to mention most of the scouts are telling the media that he's the best center prospect to come out in ten years. Charlie Casserly being one of the exceptions as an ex personnel guy that isn't high on him. They may trade down but that's if all the guys they like as 1st round talent are gone. In this scenario they would be all over this guy.

As much as I'd like to take my pet cat Tate, I'll go with Pouncey

Campbell, some drafts have him going pretty high. He'd be a good value at this spot.
Campbell's a work-out warrior who can't stay on his feet while on the field. I would stay away from him at all costs.

To your first question: Yes and here is why:

Kosier is a FA after this season and they need a replacement. If Kosier resigns, then that would be great because he would be a good swing guard, but they need to make plans for that now rather than wait for the end of the year.
Currently, Dallas's contingency plan if Free gets injured is to move Bigg over to left tackle. Pouncey could easily slide over to that Guard spot to take his place with no drop off in production.
They eventually may move Gurode back out to guard. Pouncey has made the line calls at Florida and supposedly is quite good at it, plus he has a tight spiral out of the shotgun (Gurode has always struggled at it).

Pouncey gives us flexibility that we currently do not have, plus he will be a very good football player in this league for a long time.

To your second question: I feel that would could get a good Free Safety in the second or third round that could push Ball and Hamlin. At worst, Ball showed last season that there is no drop off from what Hamlin brought to the table and he is younger, so we would be convered for the foreseeable future at the position with solid play. If they come out of this draft with no one at FS, I expect them to make a run at Atogwe anyway.

To your third question: Yes, I feel that Doug Free will be a very good player in this league. You need to trust the coaches on this one. They have seen him go against Ware and Spencer in TC and practice, so they have much better knowledge of his potential than we do.

To your trade comment. You need a trade partner to play that game. If there is a good trade out there, perhaps they take it and move down (I am for that, by the way), but there are no guarantees that it will happen. Pouncey is a legit top level talent and I would rather bring him to Dallas then pull off a bad trade and get a draft like last year.

One final thought, Don't forget that they wanted Max Unger last year in the draft and missed out. They still feel that they need that player and will look hard at filling that spot.

Tim Tebow

Why would anyone waste a high draft pick on Tim Tebow, he'll be an NFL bust, he's not an NFL caliber Quarterback, classic college quarterback. He's a fourth round pick at best, tightend or H-back, that's his destination for the NFL..

I'm sure that was a joke pick from a bored Cowboy fan. We all just need the draft to get here.:D

Let's call off the dogs.....it was a blowout.

With the 27th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft
the Dallas Cowboys select

Maurkice Pouncey, C/G, Florida

that ends the voting....runner up was the trade down option (28-34), by the way.

next up is San Diego.............
