Who are the 17?

Is the following list correct, if not which player(s) would not be in the list?

I really doubt Geno Smith is in that 17.

I feel pretty sure that Vaccaro is in that list of 17. He may be 16 or 17, but he would be in there.

I think Patterson may not be in there.

Sly Williams and Werner are right on the fringes, imo. Eifert too.

In the years where we had Lee and Carter listed with first round talent, how were they slotted by other raters?

Are there any injured players that should have first round grades?

A post had the kid from Princeton being a possible Jared Allen. Allen was drafted in the fourth but would be a one in a redraft.

I don't think Austin or Jones are in their 1st round prospects.

The Cowboys have always been a team that wants bigger wrs and though they have a few shorter ones at the end of the roster I think when it comes to high picks they still want the bigger receivers.

I don't think Jarvis Jones really fits their defense. Weakside defensive end would be his best position in the Kiffin defense but the guys poor 40 time I think drops him to their second round.

Geno Smith might be in there just because he's a qb but he at least is in the not sure category.

I think Eifert and Vacarro are definitely in there. Broaddus has mentioned that he thinks that they have Vacarro ahead of Richardson. (although he personally does not)

I think Williams might be in there.

Broaddus has also said that the Cowboys have Fluker in the second round. I think he's giving good info - agree with him.

I think they have Werner in the 2nd.

Not saying I agree with it, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas has Reid ranked above Vacarro and teetering around that 17th pick.

I think 17 players graded as a first rounder it makes it very likely that a first round pick will be on board at 18 and that makes it fairly unlikely to trade down unless it is just quarterback, Lacy and Eifert.

In this case I'm talking about the 17 players the Cowboys have rated 1st round picks with him not making the cut. Although I think it's certainly possible Werner could slide to the 2nd in the actual draft. He's not that great edge rusher teams drool over.

That's a good list. There may be a flyer or two in there. Don't know about Vacarro. I've warmed up a good bit to him as I've learned more about his athleticism. I won't be surprised either way about him. I agree Fluker belongs in the 2nd round although someone will likely take him in the first. I think he can play guard just not for us.

That would mean the none (zero, nada, none) of the other teams take a player that is not on the Cowboys draft board.

I thought Patterson's only issues were academics. I didn't think he had any behavioral problems.

Why would Patterson be in the box? If he has a drug history ok, but if it's the intelligence questions, I don't think they box a guy for that. I could see them downgrade the guy or maybe decide he isn't a fit for their scheme but that is still different from boxing the guy.
