Release Flozelle Adams????? He is the only good OL we have on the team. I guess you havent noticed how bad our OL has been since he got injured.

Yeah I noticed.

I didn't say release him and play next year with what we have right now.

We definately need to wait & see on Flozell. He was playing Pro-Bowl calibur LT before he got hurt. The last thing we need is to lose that kind of talent on an already iffy Oline. I would love to see us draft a LT prospect like Marcus McNeil, Jon Scott, or Eric Winston to be tutored by Flo for a year. Then, if the prospect is ready the following year, we can afford to cut Adams loose.

great minds think alike? but I think we should let Adams play out his contract, he only has 3 years left on his deal after this year, that should be enough time for the rookie OT we take this year in the 1st, get up to speed and transition to the NFL, and therefore we suffer a seamless transition from FLo to him

Did you know that JJ needs ONLY 42 yards to reach the 1,000 yard rushing mark?

McNeil from Auburn will be gone by the time we draft although Winston & Scott should be there. Actually I'd rather pass on McNeil only cause I read a report he had back problems at Auburn. Don't know more then that but I don't want any other players who already had medical problems in college; remember TE we had several areas ago who had back problems while at LSU and he only lasted 5 years with us & last year or so missed games because of back.

Will be spending as much time as possible looking at all the bowl games checking out guys who could help us. Either Scott or Gilles would really help this team and sure wish there is someway we could draft both but while either probably available when we pick doubt either would slide down to us in 2nd round. Sure wish there was some way we could add another 3rd pick or recoup our 4th pick. If Cowboys don't bring Glover back, maybe somehow we can work out a trade but doubt it.

Davin Joseph seems like the type of guy we need. He has excelled at every positon on the line for Oklahoma Center, Guard and Tackle. Decent size for all three as well. 6'3" 310 lbs. I think guard will be his final place but he could play the others if needed. He reminds me alot of Will Shields. If we were really lucky we could get him in round 2.

I don't know that we would.

But his 2006 cap number is $7 million, his release saves us $3 million and with the type of injury he had, you can't be sure he'll be the same player.

That's a lot of money, and if there's a replacement out there, it's something you have to look at.

There are sometimes darn good tackles on the free agent market that make $3 million in the first year of their contract, and that's what we would save....

I don't know about releasing Flo, I still think he is a good tackle for the price that we signed him for. Does the savings of 3 mil, does that include his signing bonus, if not he might cost us more to release him then. Remember the signing bonus gets escalated into next years cap.

What tackles are out there? Its way to early to even start thinking of Free Agents anyway. FA's are a scary commodity anyway, you always over spend for them and might not get a better product than what you had.

If Dallas is so far under the cap, then why cut Flozell? Seems like they will have enough money to keep him around. I think there are still questions at RT with Petitti. As long as that is lingering, you don't get rid of someone solid on the left side. Dallas needs to keep as many good players as possible while adding others.

I keep seeing Reeves name pop up. Why do people hate this guy? He has done very well for the 4th CB on the team. I thought he had a good game on Saturday. He costs nothing to keep around for further evaluation. Unless some stellar corner back falls into Dallas lap, you keep Reeves around. Heck even if a stellar corner came to Dallas, they can still easily affod to take Reeves to training camp next season and stay on as a 5th corner.
