Dez single handidly won the TEXANS game.... This year w the injuries to megatron, he is the best wide receiver in the NFL....

Let him walk? Wow.

Trade maybe, for a lot, but let him walk? Wow
He's going to be an unrestricted free agent. "Let him walk" doesn't mean anything: if he decides to walk, they can't stop him. It's all well and good to say "wow" and leave it at that, but the question is: how much are you willing to pay? What trade are you willing to accept?

Will you give him Aaron Rodgers money? I should hope not. Would you trade him right now for two 1st-rounders? I'm guessing no. So, how much money is too much? How many picks is enough?

Dez is considered at the least a top 10 WR and anyone saying otherwise is about as smart as a romo hater. So he is going to be expensive. To be blunt about Murray I would ride that horse this season and franchize him next year. Then let him go. Carter- do NOT break the bank for someone that inconsistent, Leary put on a 1st rd tender. Mc Clain sign him. Moore is another we need to keep. The rest, meh.

The bolded part is extremely conservative. I don't know many who would say he isn't at least just outside the top 5, but I guess that's the point you are trying to make. The rest, I 100% agree with. Franchising Murray, would likely be the wisest move. Carter, I can go either way. He can walk or resign for decent money. Don't play around with Leary, McClain and Moore.

The Arizona Cardinals are in first place in the toughest division in football with a second string QB..... Id say it looks darn good....

In first place 5 games or so into the season. They haven't played Seattle and beat SF at home, so I wouldn't read too much into them being in first place yet

They can save 8m each by cutting Carr and Free. They can save 10m with a Romo restructure.

The difference is that is money that can be spent on replacements and our own FAs as opposed to just getting under the cap.

I would take Carr and Free back, but only at 50% of their scheduled salary.

Priorities are Dez, Murray, RoMc then Carter, Moore, Spencer, Parnell(depending on Free)

Keep drafting BPA

I’ve got different categories:

There is no way we are letting him get away:

Heart and soul players for this team today and in the future. Not going anywhere.

Dez, Ro McClain

Either/or:

Resign the cheaper option and let them mentor the 2015 draft pick.

Bruce Carter/ Justin Durant
Doug Free/Jeremy Parnell
Anthony Spencer/George Selvie
Nick Hayden/Josh Brent

Would like them back, but don’t break the bank:

DeMarco Murray – I want him back, but I think this is a case of a good back looking like a great back thanks to great O-line play. My guess is that we are offering good back money, but he will want great back money.
Ron Leary – I really like Leary, but a lot of guards are going to look solid between Fredrick and Smith.
Sterling Moore
Cole Beasley – RFA , so we should be able to keep him cheap for one more year.
Lance Dunbar – Same as Beasley
Tyler Clutts – my guess is that he will be cheap
Dwayne Harris

Ehhhhh:

Chris Jones, CJ Spillman, Darrion Weems, Jack Crawford, Cameron Lawrence, Donald Hawkins, Lavar Edwards, Tony Hills, David Little

Interesting way to look at it.

We probably let Free walk since I think the plan all along was to move Martin to RT. That should make Leary a priority and Parnell as a backup as long as he doesn't cost too much.

So this team finally gets good young talent and people are ready to let some walk. Like Murray Leary Harris Dez Durant.

Then some have Guys like Spencer who could be good for a few more years at a pretty good price. I would try and retain as much talent as possible. I mean a lot of these guys are young. You'll have to replace them.

Why move him? Why not keep the big 3 in the middle? It would be a dumb move IMO, we would be back to shotty OG play trying to fill that spot. We don't need a 1st RD pick at RT keep that pocket clean. We have an elite line with an average RT now. We've seen what poor OG line play looks like.

Letting Dez walk would be the dumbest thing this team could do. He is a top 3 WR and the run game wouldn't be nearly as effective without him on the field.

Disagree. Letting Dez walk is the thing to do. Making sure guys like Rolando and Leary and Carter are signed are priority 1. Getting friendly deals with Free and Murray would be team 1st gottados as long as they stay team amigable. Bryant will ask a lot and if he is needed one more year it is going to be the "tag" for him. Guys like Beasley and Durant are in the cards if they get friendly with Syephen and jerry at the bargaining table. Hoping to retain Parnell, Harris, Moore. Josh Brent will sign cheap.

you're right, my bad....he did slip past my radar and should be a tier 2

Not to bag on you but the way Leary is playing and his age, that's more like a tier 1.

If Carter gets healthy and continues playing throughout the season the way he was, he moves up there too.

That's 5 serious guys to sign.

Look out for Sterling Moore too, moving up to tier 2. The guys looking good out there as our third corner.

They can't stop him with the Franchise tag. It's not a bad option with him because it's a similar number to what he will get paid per year anyway.

Jerry said they don't really like the idea of moving Martin. He talked about Romo being able to deal with outside pressure, but they needed to be really good on the interior because interior pressure causes Romo more problems than edge pressure.

Parnell will probably be the MVP of tomorrows game anyway and they'll just re-sign him to replace Free. ;)

Ron Leary I am sure is a priority they'd like to resign, with your top tiers.

Multiple sites show Ronald Leary as a Restricted Free Agent following this season.

They are wrong.

Leary is under contract for 2015 and scheduled to become a RFA in 2016.

I love the salary cap sites, but they can't stay on top of everything when attempting to follow all 32 teams.

Leary entered the NFL in 2012 as an undrafted free agent, all undrafted players sign three year contracts, so it's natural to assume after a quick glance that Leary will be a RFA in 2015.

The catch is Leary didn't play in 2012.

In fact, he didn't even make the roster to open the season.

Leary was on the Practice Squad until the final two games, when he was signed to the active roster because another team was attempting to sign him away (Practice Squad players are free agents and can sign with any team to their active roster).

Leary needed to be on a 53 man roster for at least six weeks in order to receive a credit towards becoming a free agent.

This is known as accruing a season.

Because this didn't happen, Leary was still a rookie when he made the team in 2013 and that was the first year of his three year contract.

Wherever I say "gone", I really mean, "sure, sign him if he comes really cheap".

Dez Bryant
- UFA - 25
Dez is a tough one. 2012 Dez was a top-3 WR. Last year, his catch % and yards per catch were way down and he fumbled too much. This year, he's cleaned up the fumbles and the catch % is back up, but the ypc is down again. If he insists on Megatron money, you have to let him walk. I honestly think he should be paid as a top 10-15 guy, not top 3-5. That doesn't mean that there's a clear set of 3-5 that are ahead of him; it means more that there's not an appreciable gap (after Megatron) among the top dozen receivers in the league.

Rolando McClain - UFA - 25
I would be waving a contract in front of him every day. His price will only go up. Sure, there's risk; there's always risk. But the upside is too good.

DeMarco Murray - UFA - 26
Gone.

Bruce Carter - UFA - 26
Huge priority signing for me. Just don't go and change the scheme again, or we'll have to suffer through another bad year while he figures it out.

Justin Durant - UFA - 29
Too old. Gone.

Cole Beasley - RFA - 25
Low tender.

Doug Free - UFA - 30
Gone.

Jeremy Parnell - UFA - 28
Here's his audition. But gone.

Anthony Spencer - UFA - 30
George Selvie - UFA - 27
Dwayne Harris - UFA - 27
Gone.

Lance Dunbar - RFA - 24
Second-round tender.

Sterling Moore - UFA 24
Priority signing. Thought he was older for some reason.

Ron Leary - RFA 25
Don't mess around. 1st-round tender. Lock up if you can.

You are WAY under rating durant
Go watch the Seattle game again the guy was everywhere
I try to sign him to a reasonable contract

I'd sooner keep Murray & Durant and let Carter walk. Carter has been playing very well, but Durant has as well and is slightly more durable IMO.

Rolando McClain is the MLB.

Justin Durant is the WLB.

Bruce Carter is the SLB.

All three are unrestricted free agents following this season.

Whether or not to re-sign Durant comes down to McClain, IMO, not Carter.

If McClain is re-signed, and I expect him to be, then Sean Lee will move to WLB and Durant becomes a luxury to keep under the salary cap.

If McClain leaves and Lee remains in the middle, then re-signing Durant is a possibility.

Retaining Carter will come down to how well he plays this season and which other free agents are re-signed.

As per spotrac.com, below are the Cowboys 2015 FAs. I've seen tons of discussion on particular players and priorities but don't believe I've seen a discussion on FAs at this view/scope. Obviously the Boys will not be able to retain most, especially with the 2015 draft class and offseason FA moves to upgrade or lateral, lower cost moves but I thought it would be fun and I'm interested to hear the thoughts of fellow zoners. Below is my stab, where after tier 2, player are listed in no priority order so let's hear.......

PLAYER - UFA/RFA - AGE
Tier 1
Dez Bryant - UFA - 25
Rolando McClain - UFA - 25
DeMarco Murray - UFA - 26

Tier 2
Bruce Carter - UFA - 26
Justin Durant - UFA - 29
Cole Beasley - RFA - 25

Tier 3
Doug Free - UFA - 30
Jeremy Parnell - UFA - 28
Anthony Spencer - UFA - 30
George Selvie - UFA - 27
Dwayne Harris - UFA - 27
Lance Dunbar - RFA - 24
Sterling Moore - UFA 24

The Rest
Nick Hayden
Chris Jones
Tyler Clutts
Josh Brent
C.J. Spillman
Darrion Weems
Jack Crawford
Ron Leary
Cameron Lawrence
Donald Hawkins
Lavar Edwards
Tony Hills
David Little

Dez will be resigned.
They have offered Murray a 4 yr deal. If he doesnt take it they will let him walk. There was a report saying Dallas wasnt going to pay him 5mil a yr.
McClain isnt going to break the bank. His history will scare alot of teams.

Carter IMO wont break the bank either. He's been injured again this yr. If he walks Then Dallas will run with wilber.
Durant gone. Play Lee at the WILL
Give Beasley a RD2 tender. If somebody wants to take him then give the team a RD2 pick.

Think Free future with the team is determined in these few weeks that Parnell is going to be playing.
Spencer i think they will try to bring back at a safe number
Selvie is gone, the team likes Gardner
Harris IMO they let walk
Dunbar i think will be let walk too
Moore needs to be resigned

Ron Leary is underrated by the OP big time. Really he is in the rest tier? I think he is going to a RFA so Dallas can tender him and should with a RD1 tender. You cant lose Leary. In 2016 give him his due.

Hayden i could see them resigning.

The rest can go
