Look to all those that are hating this pick remember, we have a problem at getting to the quarterback for a few seasons now. I think we all should be grateful at the pick.
said people after Dlaw pick, said people after Gregory pick,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I'm fine with Taco. Last of the decent DEs imo. Picks 22 onwards fell wrong for Dallas. Was kind of hoping for Foster, but obviously there's something there we don't know about. Maybe 2nd round if he keeps falling.

It's always great seeing teams picking after us getting better players than we landed before them.

He's not an edge rusher that's the problem

That's true...he isn't. But Rod has another young, athletic, moldable body to play with and he does have position flex for sure. Charlton reminds me of a better version of Tony Tolbert. More athletic and bigger than Tony was. (I really liked Tolbert BTW)

Instant analysis

The Cowboys' issues rushing the passer have been well-documented over the last few seasons. Jerry Jones said he wanted to go out and get a "war daddy" rusher this offseason, and he just got one for Rod Marinelli to work with. Charlton got better with every year he spent as a Wolverine. He finished his college career with 19 sacks and 28 tackles for loss, increasing his total in each category with each passing season. The switch to a 4-3 front really unleashed him once he moved into the starting lineup as a senior. He has great size for the position at 6-foot-6 and 277 pounds, and though he did not run well at the NFL combine, he moves faster than his 40-speed when you put on the tape. He also uses his hands well and has the makings of an excellent spin move to counter his speed rushes to the outside.

Taco is slow as molasses to come off the edge...he just doesn't have a burst

I felt like Taco was getting the Bosa treatment from Cowboys fans....guess there is always one.

Anyhow like Bosa I will counter with facts:

From PFF:

"Michigan edge defender Taco Charlton had the highest pass-rush productivity on pressures that made it to the quarterback in less than 2.5 seconds

He's quick enough.

Well if opposing qbs don't have 2 hours to throw, I guess this will be a solid pick.
