RELEASED *** Cowboys 53-player Roster Cuts/Released Thread ***

The confusion about Winfrey, according to Calvin Watkins, was a call Dallas made to him.

They told him "this is your last chance" but Winfrey mis-heard the message and thought he was being cut. Instead it was Dallas saying that he made it, but don't mess it up, because he had off-field incidents with the Browns and Jets.

Not too different than what I thought.

Felt we'd keep Vaughn over Sanders, but went with the veteran who has actually at least proven he can play in the league.

Went short at WR by cutting Brooks, which allowed us to keep an "extra" DT (Winfrey), and I'm good with that.

A little surprised we kept Booth and Childress over Hall and Mukuamu.

I also thought Richards would be kept as a 10th lineman, but am OK with the trade.

Holden likely on the PS tomorrow. And Mingo will be back in a few weeks.
Yeah, I will be surprised if anyone picks him up. Both Holden and Brooks might be on the PS. We overvalue our cuts.

I think we would have lost Winfrey, and maybe that's why we kept him instead of an extra receiver.

Yeah I just posted it's for 2028 picks.

Seems to be trending last day or so ol traded for picks 3 years out. Seems goofy
The timing is not a coincidence. They’re getting that 2028 pick for Dak’s heir.

Don’t worry about Holden too much. Some WR emerges every camp and they always make it thru waivers. Every team in the league has their own receivers they want to keep. The odds of another team signing him to their 53 is extremely low.

If Guyton sits week 1 we will only have 3 backup OL and only one backup OT (Cornelius). Guess you could slide Smith out if need be

Read that Adeniji will probably be re-signed once the injured guys hit the IR

Vaughn getting cut is the best news of all of the cuts, it was a nepotism pick which made it a wasted pick!
Really? You are fan of THIS team and you are crowing about nepotism? His dad is a scout. Not some high level exec.

Nepotism is an issue for sure. It has nothing to do with the players though.

Was surprised, pleasantly, at the play from Clark(LB) in preseason.
Was thinking Barron had a good shot based off his signing bonus but the vets in front of him played well.
Curious if he's retained for the PS or they just let him go.
