Funny every cap site shows he’s under contract next year how does he become a FA if under contract

His contract is set to void after the start of the 2025 season.
March 15th per OTC
The start of the season is March 12th

But just this offseason many of you were still adamant that he was the best G in football & had years left. I'm confused as how so many great talent evaluators misled me.

It's almost like many of you are as wrong as our front office about most things. Can't wait to hear the excuses & backpedaling.

I don't think anyone knew it was that bad to their defense. Nobody knew Zack was clearly going to let guys just walk him back, and seeing him whiff on blocks

It's worse now for sure, but it's been happening more frequently for several years. It was there for anyone to see. He has CLEARLY not been the dominant force he was early in his career. Some just want to pop off at the mouth rather than look for the truth before speaking.

These articles are so dumb. This is pure speculation and writers now don’t have to do any actual journalism.

They just throw stuff against the wall, and if it gets clicks, then it sticks.

Martin is clearly a shadow of his former self. It is probably time for him to retire with his dignity and his legacy intact. That said, I really don't know why our fans have to crap all over him. This was a guy that for most of his career was an absolute dominant Force, among the best in the league at his position year after year.

Sadly and Predictably, his talent was wasted in this joke of a franchise. But as Cowboy fans we should be thankful that we got to watch this guy do his thing with a Star on his helmet for so many years. I wish him nothing but the best

I'm sure the Bears are dying for a 34 year old declining guard with back injuries. Their owner is looking to sell #70 Martin jerseys.

IMO he's just going to retire.
Bears o-line is so bad that I could see this happen.

lets see. Three years ago you said he was finished. Made ALL PRO last year.
I guess you figured if you kept posting the same thing again and again one day you would be right

You are so full of it. you for some reason decided to hate on him several years ago and finally you have your justification

amazing how so called fans act like some here. Yes Martin looks to be done; the back problems have made him stiff and age has taken some of his quickness. But when you read posts like from a certain poster in this thread, you have to wonder if people have any intelligence at all to combat their hate

I think retirement is a good possibility. But I guess it depends how he feels in the offseason. If I was Martin though I don't know why I would return and play for a non-contender like the Bears.

Right a guy that I used to respect but the holdout for more money knowing where his body was that was a money grab he knew it was his last shot immediately he started declining meaning he had an idea so the man held out and then started declining last year we saw it you know it was a play here or there and now this year it's really falling off a Cliff and sure Tyrone Smith everybody was mad we let him go to The Jets and what does he do this year not playing well at all so if he wants to join the bears so be it and by the way unless you're wearing the star when you leave this team my loyalty stays here so welcome Hoffman I'll take you at right guard to maybe finish the season last three or four games let's see what he's got if this coaching staff's smart that's what they're doing...

And I know they're not smart but I'd be using Tyler Smith bass Cooper Hoffman and guyton that's left to right that's exactly what my lineup would be the rest of the year or a combination of such to get Richard sometime but I would play around with a lot of lineups so you know going into the draft and free agency what you really need but I really believe we can have a good line with a better offensive line coach and some of these younger players they won't be all pros but I think they have more to give more energy more youth you know strength that kind of thing i'm not trying to diss martin but i ....deep inside he knew it big money grab,, do I blame them no but I sure am mad and I'm not happy about it.,

Father Time continues to be undefeated.
And that's what we keep saying but occasionally you got Derek Henry Terrell Owens and guys like him that seemed to be an outlier an anomaly to all that because that's why I believe you don't go out and get an older running back because they can fall off the Cliff that year you thought they were gonna have another good year and Derek Henry somehow fooled everyone I really thought it would've been a bad idea to bring him here rather had drafted a guy get a younger running back or double running back but some dudes are just that way. Martin's had a great career and it's pretty long career for a football player.
