why all the excitement? I don't get it. is it because these are names we have heard of in the past and we are perhaps living in the past?

Carolina was 23rd on defense. 29th in rush defense. we were 11th in rush defense.... and we just signed their two DTs...excuse me if I am not excited.
When Poe got injured for 5 games they gave up an additional 50 yards on the ground. Luke has a bad year there linebackers played horrible too.

Why exactly.

some reason people are obsessed with his cap hit. Just keep him as he can play multiple positions.

Now if you guarantee me we will get a guy like Griffen, I’m ok with that.

If not, just keep Crawford

Why you don’t think we need solid run stopping rotational players

I guess they don't watch him play. I get it, most people focus on DLaw and sacks like that is suppose to define how good overall a player is. Crawford is no Watt, but he's a versatile better than average defensive lineman no matter what position he plays. Well worth the money.

Now can we please go get Griffen and call this FA period a win?
With McCoy & Poe are the cowboys even in the FA Dline market any further? Don't get me wrong, if we could sign him financially I think it would be a home run offseason for fixing the Dline but i can't imagine them spending any more in FA on the position. What do ya'll think?

So we upgraded DT and S...what we’ve all been screaming for years.

But in the meantime we downgraded at CB, DE, and C (can’t really blame C on anyone)

I guess we can’t have all nice things at once

We will fill those needs. I see a CB and C in rounds 1-3. McGovern or Looney can handle C for a year or two.

If Gregory comes back and is healthy, him and Crawford are solid

This is a massive cop out...none of your reasons are even close to legitimate..you can argue Poe was hurt..maybe the scheme fit..or some other things..but you are just making poor excuses for poor play
I can see how it comes off that way. All together they played poorly. Yes they were second in sacks but overall yes. Team was in disarray and overall didn’t do well clearly.

Can we dump Crawford now

Other the fanbase enthusiasm, there is not much upside cutting him before June 1st. I believe the cap impact is the same (deadcap money and cap savings). At this point it would make more sense for the FO to keep him through OTAs and possibly the preseason for depth or possibly trading (same cap impact if were to be cut) him to another team that lost a player to injury.
