“I was very close to going back there. There were some things that fell through and just didn’t happen. I think everything happens for a reason. I’m here, and I’m supposed to be here. They’ve got a pretty good young back over there as well.”

The Cowboys discussed a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to bring Murray back to town. A source within the team agrees with Murray that a reunion was “close,” but the Eagles preferred to trade Murray to a nondivision foe.

He chose to leave. Sadly for Demarco he's finding out just how expendable he is, so far so good in Tennessee, but EE is doing even better for less money and with less experience.

Murray took the money and ran...and then was tackled after 20 yards.

Well I'm thankful that fell through.

I'm certainly glad it worked out the way it did, but if we weren't in a position to grab Elliott, or if there was a defensive player there worth taking, I can't say I'd be upset with Murray coming back here. Not to mention, he's a lot more affordable now that he was traded and Philly ate so much of the cost.

The scary part is, if we had done the deal, it likely meant taking Ramsey at #4

I love thinking about the what if on these things. Like what would the roster look like if this trade was made? Do we go defense at 4? Do we lose everyone's favorite backup QB because we traded that pick away? Who's our backup RB? Did we take one in the mid rounds?

If we were not willing to sign him for that type of money in the first place why would we bother trading to get him back after he had a down year and McFadden had better year anyways. Especially at the same price.

Glad we did not.

wonder if he would have re done that contract he signed in Philly.

What does Romo have to do with this???

i'd rather have demarco and ramsay. murray was the man, and now he's 2nd in the league rushing without this line. would have loved it. hated him leaving and was really hoping they could figure something out. happy to have zeke, but man... man man
