I think Meat Loaf would agree that 1 outta 3 is bad.

Cowboys HC Brian Schottenheimer calls the offensive plays for an offense that remains exceptional. The team has performed poorly in two of three phases, however.

— Offense is third in NFL averaging 30.1 ppg.

— Christian Parker’s defense is the only one in NFL history allowing 375 ypg with no INT through first 4 games.

— ST coach Nick Sorensen has only group to allow multiple blocked FG attempts this season.

He should have been gone in the off season. I called for him to be replaced many times and was shocked he was retained. The special teams were embarrassingly bad.

The fact he didn't clean up the blocking after the first blocked kick against Baltimore and Houston exploited it into another blocked kick can't be defended. It reeks of incompetence and that is unacceptable.

To put it bluntly - what the hell are we doing? It seems as though he has nine lives or compromising pictures of Schotty. Because despite his best effort, he can't get fired. He needs a fire lit under his *** to improve the performance more than the slight uptick in the return game we've seen.

Man, that's ugly. I hope they use the mini-bye to tighten a lot of things up in all 3 phases.

Offensively get the run game on track. Hopefully, getting Tyler Smith back helps with that.

Defensively and Special teams everything needs to be better. Every thing.

I'll say it once, I'll say it a million times - the quality of the special teams performance is correlated with the time in practice spent on it. As ineffective as Sorenson has been, Schottenheimer deserves a lot of blame for the performance. They need the time in practice to emphasize and work on the details, as special teams are largely about effort and details. Not seeing a lot in either category.

Agree. I will give Parker some leeway, but Sorenson is just really bad!! He needs to go!!! Like yesterday!!!

If the defense stays this bad or at best gets into the top 20 range by end of year, you can’t have a special teams unit also making critical mistakes, it’s imperative that gets cleaned up

It must be impossible not to catch this man looking goofy. You could take 10,000 burst shots at each of them would come back as Gomer Pyle.

The offensive ship is run by Dak...Schotty is just a patron as well. Where he SHOULD be making his mark is on D and special teams, but I just don't hear the depth of experience to draw from when he speaks.

To me, we have the talent at ST to be tops in the league. Fire the coach before the bye week and get someone with experience.

Bones Fassel's exit surprised me. I didn't know he had been gone until I started seeing Nick Sorensen's name last year. I liked Fassel. Yes he called some boneheaded plays but for the most part, he was a pretty solid special teams coach.

The bye is week 14 after the Seattle game. Maybe they should not go by the bye as a deadline and use a certain week falling before then as one instead. More proactive measures should be enacted sooner than later if they do go that route.

..blow me, Ed. Such a tool.

Guys teeth so yellow, you think he says BUTTER when he smiles.

Always finding something to highlight the negative

Ah, you're right. For some reason thought it was mid season.
Agreed, at week 14 too late.

What led you to believe they don’t practice special teams?

Never forget the most Schotty contributed to the trash defense last year was to tell the DC to sit up higher. And that was, what, week 10?
