Cowboys are in the worst position financially and personnel wise I can remember

No Mountain West Conference running back is going to walk into the NFL and be even an average NFL running back as a rookie. Particularly behind the Cowboys’ offensive line.
Conference doesn't dictate NFL success, skillsets do.

We are not that bad.

we just need the offense working again.
best case for the division next year is 3-3 but likely 2-4. Not that bad. Lol. And play the NFC North and AFC West. Lions, Packers, Vikings, Chiefs, Chargers, Broncos. I see a lot of beatdowns coming our way.

If Dak's surgery fixing his torn hamstring from the bone holds up, Dak will be fine. I hope there is a clause in his contract for cutting him in case that hamstring gets torn off again and Dak is unable to play once again due to reinjury.
Fine? He wasn't fine before the injury. Are you his agent?

Dak's # for 2025 accounts for 32% of our cap. There is 0 chance they leave that number as is unless they want to blow everything up.

Parsons currently salary of 24 million will drop when a new deal is reached.

Lamb accounts for 13% in 2025 and will most likely be adjusted.

We also should have carried over 20 million from 2024 and I'm not sure that is reflected in the current numbers.
Most likely after the draft and when their are no legit FA's available.

Sooooo, then we learned our lesson and took Derek Ross Part Deux in Kelvin Joseph. BRILLIANT!!!!
Bossman Fat is a head scratcher for the history books. At least the team had Diggs, Brown, and Lewis at CB when Joseph was drafted. When Ross was brought in, the CB room consisted of Edwards, Goodrich, and Hawthorn. Taking a chance on a guy with character issues hoping he would grow up and eventually replace a solid veteran vs taking a chance on a guy that needed to start on day 1. The draft team has been noticeably better over the last decade, but JJ's need to find and correct talented but troubled players has led to a talent deficit that's contributed to the playoff drought. Maybe he figures it out one of these days. Wishful thinking.

The whole team wasn't fine. You ever played football? This is not golf. How did Mahomes look during the Super Bowl? Hot garbage with his Oline playing like trash.
Played plenty of football for whatever thats worth. Mentioning Dak and Mahomes in the same breath is a travesty. Better off giving me a scenario about Daniel Jones or Kirk Cousins. Someone who is actually comparable to Dak.

No, you're both wrong.
No you are. We can create cap space. Lots of it. That isn't a matter of debate. The question always is, does Jerry want to?

You said we have $7M in cap space now, which doesn't matter one bit. Nothing. The original posted your replied to said "we have plenty of cap space" which is completely true.

That Goodrich Hawthorn draft was the polar opposite of the Philly draft last year. SMH. Awful

Chiefs won more games than any other team in football. Clearly the super bowl was a one off with their OL not holding up and he was running for his life the entire game. There is little chance Dak would have finished a game like that. He isn't close to being mobile enough for that much pressure. Even with all that pressure Mahomes went 21-32-257-3. Dak isn't close to being in Mahomes league.

The Cowboys are in a horrible state where they are and will be paying several players Top Pay but the team has not and will not achieved any success.
Currently we are paying the Top QB salary, $60 avg to Dak.
2nd highest WR to Cee Dee ($34).
We will be paying Micah the Top DE salary, $35-40 avg.
We will need to resign Aubree who will likely demand and deserve the Top Pay for Kicker, $7 avg.
Tyler Smith is eligible for an extension and will likely and derserve the Top Pay for OL, $21 avg.
It is hard to remember a team paying so many players the Top Pay of their positions and the team has not had any success.
Most teams that pay player like this because those players helped them achieve great success.
We have these "Top Players" but given the lack of depth on the team, all this money will be for naught because having such financial commitments will prevent the team from bringing in additional talent to give the team a chance at capitalizing on having these Top Players.
So we will pay all of them and like many other of our past Top Players since the late 90's, they will likely not achieve anything of significance.
Aikman, Irvin, and moose retiring because of injury killed this team, more than anything JJ did or didn’t do. Idk how people don’t realize this. If they had drafted moss there would’ve been a whole different story. Galloway injuries hurt but he was the OBJ of the 90s. Was a shame injuries killed this team but that Galloway move was made to win more superbowl. But aikman going down was the worst that could’ve happened
