We expect one player to change the game for us in a team game. Like Ware, Parsons may end up contributing to a Super Bowl run elsewhere as part of a team instead of us the player everyone is counting on to be the team.

Here, our players have to play hero ball in order for us to succeed. They go elsewhere and they just have to be part of the success not the sole reason for it.

Agree…we can’t keep setting the ceiling for positions. Wish they could have agreed at a lower price last year but today at this price, I’m glad they moved on. However, I do wish they would have gotten a better return.

Another big return from this trade that I haven’t seen mentioned. A number of folks have said they are done with the Cowboys and leaving. This site could use a little herd thinning.

Kudos to Jerry and the Dallas Cowboy.

They get 2 - 1st round draft picks, and a solid DT. A position everyone complained about for years.

They avoided paying for a player that disappeared late in the season and in the playoffs.
Everyone saying how great this is for GB. But they aren’t saying how he disappears in big games.

They act as if now in GB, he will be so much better, like a Reggie White impact.

Also Jerry has set a precedent. You are not going to hold us hostage. We have the leverage. So do not think we will over pay our players anymore.

Face it, $47 million per year resets everything for non QB players. Expect it to get worse. Jerry made a stand. He won, GB reset it all.

Cowboys won the trade, and some don’t like it.

In a functioning franchise this would be the end of Dak. We've enough picks to get the best QB in next years draft. However I fear the Cowboys QB phobia will mean we'll waste these.

As for Micah, it wouldnt surprise me to see him win MVP in the SB. This trade gives the Packers an edge over the Eagles. Watch for Micah to be chasing down Mahomes next February.

When you break it down Parsons was likely traded for two reasons.

Firstly, buyers remorse for the horrific contract agreed with Dak Prescott. Dak was terrible before the injury and then he was unable to play any further last season after attempting to rush for 5 yards. This was compounded by MVP Josh Allen extending his contract for 10% less per year a season after the Dak Prescott contract. Dak Prescott remains the highest paid player per year in NFL history despite most people claiming the market will simply reset when the next big name quarterback resigns...yeah that hasn't been the case. Purdy who has played in a Superbowl subsequently resigned for $53 million a year with $181 million guaranteed on a 5 year contract and as mentioned league MVP Josh Allen resigned for $55 million a year with $250 million guaranteed on a 6 year contract. Dak is earning $60 million a year with $231 million guaranteed over just 4 years. Truly awful. Whatever way people try to slice it up, this contract has made Jerry Jones and the Cowboys' front office look incompetent. The optics are really bad and it's embarrassing. This has come after a big contract extension to Diggs which hasn't worked out well to date either.

Secondly, the supposed handshake agreement back in March where Jerry and Micah shook on £40.5 million a year without Micah's agent present.

I think the first point regarding Dak's backbreaking contract was the main reason behind not resigning Micah.

It's just a shame that it took the Dak contract for the front office to finally push back on overpaying their own draft picks. Had the front office moved on from Dak then the Cowboys would be in a sensational position moving forwards given the draft capital at their disposal over the next couple of years in very strong looking draft classes.

I wouldn't be surprised if this front office made boneheaded moves by giving up draft capital and trading for players for this season in trying to win now with Dak as quarterback. If they do this then it will set the team back even more. Next year is likely a very strong draft class for quarterbacks. Please just focus on the future and draft the quarterback for the Cowboys next year. They have an opportunity to right the wrong after the horrific Dak Prescott contract.

The silver lining is this trade has to be viewed as bad news by eagles fans. Cowboys weren't a threat even with Micah and we get a couple of picks for the future. Packers - who are a legit threat - get an elite player

He said the Cowboys feel. He didn't say No-Schott and Eberflus feel that way. The Cowboys (i.e. Joneses) think the coaches can scheme pressure, when coaches will tell you that there's no substitute for talent.

Well it tells me they got their input before making the final decision to pull the trigger. Pretty sure they wanted Schotty and Eberflus' assurance that they could replace Parsons' stats/impact. In other words, if we trade him, who/how replaces his pressures and sacks?

He was the only player that wants to win on that team and that’s why he got traded. Jerry Jones does not like players you wanna win anymore.
