Can this franchise get any more pathetic? This team overpaid for a backup quarterback who they think is a starter and then they trade their best player for virtually nothing. Who else is going to trade for someone due a massive contract extension? No team who will be at the top of the draft is doing this trade. That's what the Jones clown show gets for waiting this long. They got desperate as time went on. This was as good as you were going to get a week before the season.

Or hear me out. They felt like a deal would get done at a reasonable price like usual. They offered 5 years $202 million back in April, Micah and his agent wanted more and Dallas stuck to their guns. Things got ugly, neither side would budge so they decided to trade him instead of paying a $45+ million plus a year to a defensive player in an offense driven league.

I don't think 2 late first round picks was worth it, but it might be the best deal they could get so they decided to do that instead of overpaying an immature athlete or paying him to fake a back injury.

I am know Jerry apologist but the same people crying about him overpaying everyone by waiting are now mad he held firm with MP.

I for one am ecstatic. I said last year when the cee dee deal was being argued about that we hadnt seen nothing that. Michael proved to be a LIAR. Dak isn't elite, we all can agree on that.

1. Dak has been a perennial top ten quarterback his whole career when healthy. Dak has also become an All-Pro and MVP. How does a backup quarterback do these things?

2. Surely Dak couldn't possibly be the first backup quarterback to have done these things, correct? So give me the names of the other backup quarterbacks to have been top ten multiple seasons, who became an All Pro and MVP candidate? What are their names?

3. If a backup quarterback like Dak can be a perennial top ten quarterback for multiple seasons, what does that make the other quarterbacks OUTSIDE of the top ten during his career.... does that mean the 22 quarterbacks outside of the top ten are 3rd stringers and practice squad quarterbacks?

Again, i believe in making sense. What you're saying doesn't line up with reality, so instead of calling you a liar, I'd rather give you the respect to see how you can explain how a backup can do these things in the 3 questions. I'll patiently wait.....

Respectively, what would have been much worse would have been overpaying for a player that has never rose to the occasion on the biggest of stages and constantly whines and isn't a leader. Thus, being stubborn and keeping him here, when he CLEARLY stated he wanted out of Dallas, would have been detrimental to team building, and set us back. We did what was needed. We accommodated the players wishes. Now he can count his money in GB. He's not our problem.

He filed a grievance with the league against Dallas, he told Jerry to never call him again. Then the cherry on top, last week's sideline antics eating nachos, no Jersey on, laying down on a table, just being an overall embarrassment to the team and himself. Is that what a leader does? Does that player scream to you leadership? I'll wait...

That’s all well and good while the cowboys win 6-7 games this year.

We were never winning with him man. Not now, and not last year. I've always said we are rebuilding. Shotty is also being true to his word . This was a culture change move. I know it's a shock because we been so accustomed to this crap with players crying and Jerry caving, but this time it's different. Don't forget, Shotty met with Micah Monday I think. He wanted to talk to him about his recent behavior. I think he had saw and heard enough out of him. This doesn't happen, the trade, without Shottys approval. I promise. Jerry likes to keep his coaches in the loop, sometimes to a fault, but it's over now. I love our chances to land Arch Manning..The best part is, we might win more games than we think in the meantime.

I first heard we got 2'players back in return, but apparently just one, Kenny Clark pro bowl DT. Dudes a stud. We also received 2 first rounders. I think we won the trade but feel we could have gotten more. I would have liked another player at least thrown into the deal.

Interesting. Clark is 29 so he doesn’t have much time left at a high level. But the short-term dropoff might not be that bad if we can turn a weakness to a strength with interior DL.

The long-term impact really depends on the draft picks and how our young DEs develop. If their Green Bay picks, then they won’t be early picks. And we’re likely not gonna be so bad that we’ll get a top 5 pick. So are two late first round picks gonna make us forget about a generational talent?

The good trend we see for elite DTS is they tend to play a very long time. Calaius Campbell comes to mind. Linval Joseph and others. I think he can play at a high level for several more years. In my view, he's in his prime. It's different for other positions like cb, QB, rb, linebacker etc. Dlineman and olineman can play a very long time and do it well. This was a nice trade for us.

Anyone who has ever been a leader knows the absolute basic first rule is praise in public and criticize in private. Something Jerry, throughout his career, has been absolutely incapable of doing.

From the media tour asserting his “control” of Micah, to the repeated dehumanizing renaming and, of course, his decades old tactic of privste whisper campaigns and media leaks about behind the scenes negative details about players.

It seems ridiculous to hold a player to a higher standard than the ultimate leader of the entire organization.
