Sad that you have to entice teams to hire minority coaches by bribing them with draft picks. I would have thought by now that wanting diversity among your coaching staff would have been a natural event. Some great proven coaches out there just need an opportunity. I guess things will change when the average age of NFL owners isn't 102.

Hopefully trade up ammo... Someone mentioned it, but I'll take quality over quantity at this point. Trade your late third and a 5th for an earlier 3rd etc. Trade pieces to get guys you really want in the 3rd and 4th rounds and hopefully we can get 3-4 solid prospects.

I might be reading it wrong but I thought the enticement was for a minority coach on a team to advance to a bigger role with another team., hence the draft picks to the team that lost the coach

While I still think it's ridiculous they got 3rd round picks out of it, the incentive to cultivate and develop diverse talent and then see them succeed and get promoted is a much better situation than the rooney rule

Whenever there aren't enough comp picks they just start an 8th round until they get a full 32 compensation picks.

The minority coach/GM initiative? Have we really gone there? Also why don't we get any for McClay? All because Jerry still needs that title next to his name, like owner isn't enough.

Dallas' picks now: Rd 1 (26), Rd 2 (58), Rd 3 (90), Rd 4 (129), Rd 5 (162), Rd 5 (169-comp), Rd 5 (176-comp), Rd 6 (212-comp), and Rd 7 (245).

Their original 6th went to the Raiders in the Johnathan Hankins trade I believe.

9 picks, maybe they will package some and finally move up in the 2 or 3 rd round to get a better player that can contribute sooner than a 7th rounder for the PS.

Unless they use that 6th or 7th for a K, like Ruggles from Ohio State.

Mid round picks have a high bust rate too. Look at Dak in the 4th.

We never get a dominant defensive tackle with any pic so it's not hard for me to believe that we would get one in the 5th or sixth round and we never use a high round pick for one so yeah we're doomed every year to the same thing where teams run on us in the playoffs and we can't stop them Yes Doomed !!!

That is the main reason for the program to exist.

To entice teams to hire minority coaches so when they leave to go to other teams (see Carthon going to Tenn to be GM and Demarco Ryans going to Houston to be HC), that you get premium draft picks as compensation, typically 3rd round.
