Be careful about laughing about Carolina.

If they were to make a trade for Staley or Thomas they could shore up that o-line as Oher will also return. Panthers aren't the same dominant team as last season but they could still make noise...make a run...and reach the playoffs.

We've seen it before...where a good team looks dead 1/3 of the way through season...and rises.

I agree that the Panthers could be dangerous, but their margin of error is razor thin. They would have to win about 5 of the next 6 to even have an outside chance of making the playoffs and getting the #6 seed. They aren't dead, but the fat lady is warming up to sing.

Cowboys. Without any type of reservation. I simply fear no team this season. I'm not naive enough to think that we won't lose another game this season but I just don't think that there's a single team in the league that we don't match up with toe to toe. We'll lose, at some point, and the Summer's Eve Crew will be at the edge of the cliff (hopefully they actually jump this time) but, barring a catastrophic injury to two or more key players, we've got a damned good chance to make a run at a championship this season.

I'm picking our team to win every single week and I'll be right a hell of a lot more than I'll be wrong.

I really like the way you put that, and I specially concur with the bold portion of your post.

I'm concerned our defense will eventually do us in like it always does. If you're going to win big games you need a pass rush especially in the 4th quarter when games are on the line. Against Green Bay, Rodgers had all day to throw most of the time but he was off, missing throws he normally makes. The defense has looked better than expected but would be nice if we could add a pass rusher via a trade.

I agree. We haven't had to worry about shoot-outs, but I'm not sure we've faced an elite offense yet. Green Bay usually has one, but Rodgers is off for some reason. Giants are hit and miss offensively. According to the Aikman Efficiency Ratings, the Commanders have the best offense that we've faced, and it's middle of the pack. Of course, our defense has contributed to the offenses we faced not being rated higher.

Like you, I believe offenses like Atlanta's can challenge us with a shootout unless we mount a pass rush. The Steelers appear to be the highest-rated offense left on our schedule, though, so I guess we'll find out then what kind of defense we have. Our schedule lines up rather nicely overall for this defense to not be really tested during the regular season. The only team in the top 10 for scoring that we face is the Eagles, and their No. 9. No Atlanta, no New Orleans, No Carolina ...

People are sleeping on Detroit...

I wouldn't be surprised if they're playing in January.

Every team in the NFC has major issues. Seattle has a awful oline. Arizona has an issue at RT, and possibly with Iupati if he's not healthy. The Eagles have an issue at RT and in their secondary. The Falcons have one real offensive weapon and a bunch of guys. We have no pass rush to speak of and are lacking at MLB. The Vikings are the only team in the league that will give Seattle a run for worst oline, add to that they have the worst QB in the contenders and probably the worst RB and WR corps.

I think there's an argument to be made right now that we are the most complete team in the NFC. I don't think our defense is much more then average. However, I do think that Seattle, Arizona, and Minny have awful offenses. The Falcon's defense is terrible. Philly has an average offense and a very good defense. We have a very good offense and an average defense. But I think the difference is that our average defense is probably more sustainable then Philly's average offense. Considering Philly looked like a great offense 4 weeks ago and now looks average, seems to be trending the wrong way.

Where do you guys come from....seriously?

Awhile back I kept asking people making the case to stick with Dak to explicitly state if they thought our 19th ranked passing attack would be WORSE if a healthy Romo returned as the starter. NOT ONE OF THEM would say it. They instinctively grasp how dumb that would be.

Fans can say what they want. The coaching staff knows our offensive attack gets even MORE spectacular when you pair that #1 running game with a QB who is running the entire offense and not a limited version of it.

Too early for this. I don't want to be the champs of September and October.

Do you know how many teams have started 5-1 just to fall off? Hell, it just happened last year with the Falcons and it's happening to them again.

Does Romo wear any of the rings in your photo?

So it looks like by the number of posts you have no clue on how many times we have gone over that in here and most everybody gets it but every once in a while a new poster writes it and we have to catch everybody up so here's the Readers Digest version--

NOBODY - was going to win a ring in Dallas with the talent surrounding Romo in his career. The only team that had a chance couldn't put the Giants away because of two dropped TD passes. Romo ran for his life against the Vikings and had no shot in that one either.

Those 8-8 years were really 4-12 without Romo and just go back and look at the offensive lines and defense on those teams. It's a testament to Tony we were even relevant.

This isn't opinion, it's a fact and it has the entire history of the NFL to back it up. The most important stat to winning in the NFL is Def Paas Rating. Look up last years leaders (Seattle, GB, Den, Car) and worst (Tenn, Cle, NO, Mia, NY). In his career Romo has never had a top ten DPR team. In fact, we really had no chance in 2014 where that team was 24th. Who didn't know that Rodgers was going to score on us whether Dez caught it or not.

Then we get into the whole ring thing. That means that Mark Rypien, Eli Manning and Trent Dilfer were all better than Marino, Fouts, Tarkenton, Kelly, etc. It's the worst argument a fan can make who isn't knowledgeable. It's the ultimate team game and if the rest of the team did their job as well as Romo has in his career we would've won multiple Super Bowls.

BTW - where are we in DPR this season? 21st which means if we happen to win the SB with that same rating we would be the first team ever to do it, that's why all talk about a Super Bowl should include this. I hope we break that trend, whether it's with Dak or Romo but it's a huge mountain to climb.

So now you know about the whole ring comment, why it's weak and why you are smarter today than yesterday.

What's wrong with what he said?

You can't be serious?

He had to take a cheap shot at Romo with a drive-by comment that isn't called for and he had every right to call him out on it. We all want Dak to succeed and we should all respect and appreciate what Romo has given the franchise.

There's no need for that and makes the poster look bad - but then again it's a message board and some people will always bury themselves no matter what.
