Cowboys Bets

So this year I've made two Cowboys bets so far.

The first bet I made was to hedge against what I didn't want to happen.

I bet the Cowboys would take a QB at #4 (50 dollars) - I take that as a probable loss right now. Unless somehow the Cowboys get Lynch at 4. Only thing that can save me is if the Cowboys trade down.

The second bet is that if Tunsil falls to 4, that the cowboys would draft him rather than any player on defense at #4. If they trade down the bet is null. Also a 50 dollar bet.

Thoughts?

If you count Collins as a 1st rd pick, has any other team had 5 1st rd picks on their Oline in the salary cap era?

I doubt it, but mainly because of the unique position it is.

First you're counting Collins who we didn't draft and you have to consider Frederick who we drafted at the very end of the first round.

I like your chances to break even.

The second bet looks good.

If Tunsil ultimately falls to Dallas, I consider it fate that an offensive line should be out together.

The Cowboys never reached for any of the talent involved and it's more like providence that the group should somehow come together.

Smith was available at the Cowboys' selection spot.

Fredrick was added after a trade down.

Martin was option E on Dallas' draft chart after several defensive players they preferred were drafted ahead of them.

Collins' unfortunate situation allowed the Cowboys to 'steal' a first round talent they would never have seen otherwise.

And Tunsil would fall into their laps as a result of trades for quarterbacks above their pick.

It's just my own opinion, but it looks like something that was 'meant to be'.

See if you can find someone who will take a bet for 150 bucks from you that the Eagles will take a quarterback. .Meaning you are saying they will.

I am 99.9% certain no gm in the NFL in Dallas' situation would draft Tunsil.

You're out 100 dollars.

They courted Collins by saying that he would help create the best offensive line in the history of the NFL. Bringing in Tunsil would really go a long way towards establishing that. It would further cement our identity as well. I would go after Derrick Henry after that in the second round.

You might be right, but drafting any of those 3 defensive players over Tunsil is a clear mistake to me.

Smith - Collins - Frederick - Martin - Tunsil

Henry

Oh my goodness...
