Limit the game to 3 drives: One for them, and two for us. Make sure we score a td on one and a fg/td on the second .

Who watched the entire Washington-Philly game?

Eagles 2022

Only have 2 games with a negative turnover differential.
32 - 21 loss to Commanders (-2 turnover diff)
17 - 16 win over Colts (-1 turnover diff)

+2 or greater TO diff: All greater than 7 point wins.

Wins by 7 points or less: +1 or less TO diff

I don't know that there's a blueprint to beat the Eagles other than to stop their run. Stop their run and you can beat them.

In their game against Washington, they inexplicably didn't run the ball in the first half. They did more passing than running. Then Washington dominated the clock. Don't expect that against us. It's not complicated. Stop their run and force the Eagles into 3rd and long. You'll beat them.

You just take Hurts and locate his Achilles tendon and well...

In the 1st game Washington held them to their season low rushing yards (72) but Washington still lost by 16 points.

The Cowboys held them to their 4th lowest rushing yards of the season.

The Eagles exceeded their season average rushing yards vs the Colts but barely won that game with a 1 point victory.

We’ll beat the Eagles in the rematch, but we’re not catching them. I think we have at least one, maybe two more losses still in us.

Contain Hurts. That is the end of it. When a QB runs for 157 and an RB goes for 100+ - You ain't winning nothing.

Obviously you have to stop Hurts rushing to have a chance first and foremost.
Commanders have limited Hurts with 20 yds in the first meeting and 28 yds in the 2nd.
First meeting vs Commanders he passed for 340 and 3.
Second game 175 and 2.
Other teams have been successful as well in limiting Hurts like Jags, Texans and Steelers but he didn't need to run to beat them.
There is no easy solution to beat Philly, unless Hurts is removed from the equation with injury.
We have to bring our A game in all 3 phases like we did only once this season vs the Vikes if we want to beat the Eagles.
Not saying it can't be done again, but that is the reality of the situation and only way to beat the Eagles.
Playing like we did vs the Packers coming out of the bye will not get it done and being lethargic for an entire 1st half vs the Giants will not either.
You want to play a lot more zone (or man/zone hybrid) to keep the secondary with it's eyes more on the quarterback (rather than running away from him with their backs turned). Spy him relentlessly. Set the edge with cement and keep him between the hashes...similar to what you had to do against Russell Wilson in his early days. He was lethal once he broke containment. IOW, make him beat you with his arm. Against Philly, the NFC East teams have the appreciable advantage of familiarity, something the AFC teams simply don't have. Now they will design some things for him but every moment spent on designed runs is time NOT spent on other aspects of their offense.

If Dallas can bottle him up like last time it only remains for the offense to show up like it did vs. Chicago, Minnesota and the second half against New York. But make no mistake. It's like I've always opined. You have to plan on outscoring Philadelphia. Trying to ride the defense to a close win is not really the game you want to play, as it takes away the greatest strength of the Dallas defense (pass defense/qb pressure)...and puts no pressure on the Eagles offense to come out of its comfort zone.

..interesting stat take. I agree, with that.

From what I've seen of most Beagle games. They are so dependent on RPO.

Take it away, then they have swim in unknown waters. Colts blew it, thinking would commit to pass at some point.

They didnt. Still ran variation of RPO.
Eagles ran the designed QB draw 4 times in the 2nd half & were burnt by it each time, including the game winning TD. Evidently, the house does have to fall on their D Coordinator.

I think one needs to be more specific with the comment "stopping the run". If Sanders goes out there and has 20 carries for 100 yards, that's not necessarily a deal killer or an impediment to winning for the Cowboys.

But if you are letting Hurts run all over you with designed runs and scrambles, especially in critical spots like third and long, that's gonna cost you.

Make Hurts beat you throwing for 300 and 3 TDs. Don't let him run and scramble like crazy. I know Quinn wants to just bring the heat and pressure the QB, but that Eagles game might be one where you show a bit more restraint. Keep him in the pocket, don't roar off the edges just letting him move outside and scramble.

Washington beat them by running on 1st and 2nd down with quick passes on 3rd and milked the clock the entire game. They just kept the ball out of Hurtz's hands. They got some big breaks with Watkins and Brown fumbling the ball in the red zone after big gains. Really big game cause we play some easy games and the only chance we have of catching them is they HAVE to lose to the Titans!

One thing to note is that Washington played that way because they are just limited offensively and as you said, got a few key turnovers. We don't have to, nor shouldn't, play conservative against them. That doesn't mean ignore the run or have Dak throw 58 times, but we can be more aggressive against a defense that has shown at times can be scored upon.
