This thread is great, I was actually thinking about making a thread like this last night but delayed until this morning. I woke up and BANG! That Jerry Jones book seems the most interesting to me.

I jusr read a little Digest Book called "Stadium Stories" by Brad Sham. It had some good info of the Zero Club, Tex Schramm and Cowboy draft busts.

I've got about 15 to 20 Cowboys books.

Like Brainpaint said, the funniest/most entertaining was Once a Cowboy, by Walt Garrison.

Bayless' best book, IMO, was God's Coach. In typical Skip fashion, he put Landry in his crosshairs, but he also had a lot of good anecdotes and it's cleverly written.

My favorite, though, is More than Winners! by Craig Massey, if you can find it.

Chief, what era is the Massey book from? Can you give us a little synopsis? thanks.

" Cowboys have always been my heroes" is a great book on the history of the cowboys. In " Boys will be boys " I thought it was funny when Randy White knocked out Charles Haley. Everybody that stood up to Haley kicked his butt , Hennings, Burt ,White.

Randy White and Haley were never on the same team so when did this happen?

White had an altercation with Hollywood Henderson, maybe that's who you were thinking of.

The best Cowboy book ever is called " Cotton Bowl Days". It tells the story of the team from it's inception to the time Texas Stadium opened. It is a great read. The author grew up in Dallas during the Cotton Bowl years and does a great job of describing how him and his family immersed themselves in the Cowboys at that time. It is a great book.

I know I'm coming at this very late, but I wanted to add this shameless plug for reference sake (in case anybody else stumbles upon this thread in the future).

I personally own about 300 books about the Cowboys, and I have lists of about 500 books, at my Dallas Cowboy Books Blog Facebook page -- just click on "Notes". It isn't just one big list. They are broken down into "The Landry Era: 1960-1988", "The Jerry Jones Era: 1989-1999", "Dallas Cowboy Books from 2000-2009", and then lists by year up to 2015. I have a list of kids books, and a list of books about the Cheerleaders.

See my sig for the link.
