They just don't get it. Go see how many catches Emmitt and Moose had per season from 1991-1995. You do not have to slam a RB into the line of scrimmage without a lead blocker to have a efficient playoff offense/running game. A 4 yard pass is just as good as a 4 yard run on any down. In the 1992 NFC Championship game it was the passing to the RB and FB that opened up SF defense.

Both years Mahomes won the Super Bowl, he had an effective prioritized running game and prioritized passing game that included the running back. Both Super Bowl wins the RBs were the lead of the offense. You pass to score, run to win, and defense wins championships will never change in the NFL.

When you get inside the 20 yard line, defense are not going to give you a lot of passing TDs to the WR (unless you have a Randy Moss or at least a Dez Bryant in his prime))0. You have to run and creatively use the RB and FB in the passing game.
PASS to RUN to the RUNNING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aikman also threw numerous passes to Emmitt in the 1993 NFC Championship game

Ok and? It’s a message board name little man. My bad for crushing ur feelings on Fraudo
Get a room...

Although he scored 12 TD's, I guess his salary was a little high to block for his QB.

The winning formula isn’t a run-first attack which the passing game spawns from; and his recent actions appear to back up those words in some regard.
However, the problem we cant ignore is that the 49ers defensive game plan is to strangle the run game and sit in coverage. If we dont/cant establish a run game (2021 defeat because of penalties giving long yardage and 2022 with Pollard injury) we'll struggle against them.

It's not so much run first or pass first, it's ability to be flexible.....which Moore hardly majored in. Running on 1st D isnt a problem, giving it to a RB that can only run between the hashes for 2 yards is just giving away a cheap down.

Don't know what YOU were talking about, just go back to sleep, pal.
McCarthy wants to control flow of the offense more. Not as in a Moore offense that produces a lot of yardage but pace and interaction intensities of the game.

If an opponent wants to challenge the running game, line 'em up and let's go, unless we are 'drama queens.'

With Smith and Martin at guards and Smith and Steele on the outsides, the team should be very strong at pass protection and running the ball.

This means, we do need to concentrate on the run game (especially as the 49ers see this as the way to beat us)......

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb is entering his fourth NFL season. "I know that I didn't put my best out there yet." Set career highs with 107 catches, 1,359 yards and nine TDs in 2022. "Once again, keep in mind, I did not have Dak for a full season. That's all I'm going to say."

Another thing I see: CeeDee Lamb matched up against Stephon Gilmore the route, but that’s not the thing. It’s what happened after. Gilmore was coaching Lamb and, from what I could hear, he told him to “try this instead of that, trust me”. What a trade this was. #Cowboys

How tough will it be to replace last year's #2 receiver the departed Schultz, 700 yards less than Lamb.

The statement was referring originally to your question as to what firing out on a defense meant.

 Really what you are questioning on a football board?

Cowboys OC Brian Schottenheimer while talking about WR Jalen Tolbert: “Ask him to see his notebook one day. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. How he has prepared his mind, for a young player, you’re talking about a second-year player, I was blown away. I told him that you need to save that and I’m gonna use that in front of the offense. It’s dynamic. I’m talking highlights and the penmanship is amazing. He’s been through every install. And that’s what this game requires. It’s not just talent. He’s figuring it out, but he’s also working his *** off.”

The trouble I see for Dak as a WC Offense QB is that he doesn't throw a well placed short ball. He just doesn't.
His over the top deep ball isn't used enough. His current deep ball accuracy is especially impressive given that it was a clear weakness early in his career. He turned a weakness into a strength.
But he has yet to do that with short passes, particularly swing passed to the RBs.
If Dak can't succeed in a dialed down custom designed offense for him, then what is left?

Don't even worry that direction, things are fine as long as health is fine.

For the life of me I don't understand why people think this.

It's impossible to watch other QBs and have this be the takeaway and it also ignores the fact that a lot of balls are thrown away from defenders, not to the WR.
Some simply will never get this.. "Why didnt he lead the WR so he could run????" well:
A) there was a saftey comming over and he would've made a play on an over the shoulder ball
B) he would've took the WR head off... so he threw the ball low and to the outside so the WR had the only play AND didnt get his head blown off.

Dak misses passes for sure but apparently he is the only QB that does to some.
