Cowboys calling in the trade that got us Downs

Or someone else moves up to 11 to take Downs. That is really what Dallas was preventing. Notice Miami declined just 1 5th; why would they do that if they knew they’d get the same player at 12? Possibly because they had a better offer
Right. And Miami still had time to submit its pick when the deal was made. Dallas showed it just took the touch of a button.

This player (and a couple of the other newbies) changes things. I know it.

Don’t expect a SB but I DO expect this team to be much less frustrating to watch.

After growing up with a safety tandem of Waters/Harris, then Thurman/MDowns…..it was painful to watch the powers that be make me watch dudes like Jeff Heath and Alan Ball as starting NFL players.

Caleb and Thompson are like a dream and I’m still shocked it happened. I value that position, and I don’t recall a top defense that didn’t have either an enforcer or a playmaker there. We of course know Caleb is both, but….

So if they had not called in the trade, Miami either passes or just takes the player they took at 12?
I don't think the team you just gave picks to would try and jump you. Just don't think they would pull that.

Ringleader Stephen in action. Not sure why it went down to the last second but they got the job done that's all that matters.

And most importantly, Caleb Downs is a Dallas Cowboy!
What's funny is it didn't go down to the last second like they were saying. If time elapsed... Dallas would have been on the clock and could take him and keep their 5th rounders.

Lol

If Dallas only had 10 seconds, then Miami had NO TIME left for another team . We gave up (2) 5's for nothing .

I think he has been in control Jerry sits there like Stephen make me look good
Jerry doesn't have the mental acuity to do what stephen just did on those phones moving around the draft and swapping picks. The Cowboys have basically been hanging out in the draft room for the past 10 years waiting on their draft spots to come up. Maybe this is a new beginning.

If the clock runs put Dallas is up. Miami could jump on at anytime, but dont think they could’ve continued working other deals.

Unless Miami decided to pick Caleb Downs at #11....

Then the Cowboys would be Shhh out of luck.
I dont think those two 5ths were making the Dolphins switch from Downs to Proctor. The only way Dallas wouldve lost Downs is if someone else traded up with Miami for him.

I'm not mad that they went and got their guy because they've had teams jump ahead of them before to grab their guy. If Downs pans out, I doubt we think twice about those 5th rounders.

I believe that's why the Cowboys made that trade. They made the trade to prevent another team from making a trade with the Dolphins to grab Downs.
