Wow all the negativity started right away.
But to each their own.

I will look forward to what can be a great season, and enjoy it as each game comes along.

Then if in the playoffs, which we should be, go from there. Too much negative thoughts in my head does no good. Not in my nature.
I get that. It’s all about recent trends and history. Back in our glory eras it was always positive and upbeat . But it’s different when your current history is more dormant .

I’ve been a Baylor fan all of my life too and we went 50 years without winning a conference championship. While we continued to support and root our team on each season we knew the odds were against us finally breaking thru . It’s a different mentality. It’s not necessarily negative but more realistic expectations.

It’s why when we finally broke thru they called it “ Miracle on the Brazos”. Maybe 27 years of frustration isn’t long enough for all Cowboy fans to feel it. But we see this mentality in other franchise cities where they have gone decades and generations without a championship like in Cleveland and Detroit. It creates a different mindset. At least we have a pretty good excuse with our owners agendas .

Hopefully it will turn someday . It took Chiefs 50 years, the Saints 43 years. Even the Steelers and Patriots 40 years . But as Diehard fans we still get up for each season hoping this might be the one but we can certainly understand why the mentality for lack of success can have.

Interesting , circumstantial records.

I guess you felt the same way when we had 20 consecutive winning seasons , 12 championship appearances in 17 seasons .

Cumulatively they didn’t mean anything to you.

How about 5 Super Bowls in a decade or first winning 3 in 4 seasons . All circumstantial records?
No I feel that the NFC East has been incredibly weak for 2 consecutive years. I feel tampa bay may have been the worst playoff team ever.
I feel the second time we played the eagles they didn't bother showing up for the game.
I feel our backup quarterback showed up and played beyond anyone's expectations.
So like I said circumstances.

I must have misread your meaning then . I thought you were trying to dispel the negative vibe .

The NFC East had 3 playoff teams last year and went to the Super Bowl. It now has 2 of the 3 favorites to win NFC this year.

Wow, the constant complaining about the negativity started right away too…..

when will some people understand and accept that positivity, negativity, and neutrality MUST exist for a forum to be a worthwhile place to post in?

If everybody was forced to agree on something we would have merely stayed in Twitter before Musk liberated it by allowing free expression without an authoritarian controlling it.

Or we could just be a forum where all we did was cheer our team on or sing alongs. Lol

True but the the NFC over all is considerably down. That has to helping the Least move up.

We are now best division in worst conference .

Agree. The NFC is HISTORICALLY weak. Hurts is the best QB in the conference and the drop off is huge after that.

weve enjoyed a weak NFC East for years and it hasn’t helped us one bit in the playoffs except for seeding

Dak's contract isn't going anywhere, but Big Mike? I think he's gone if the team fails again in the playoffs.
Seriously Bro, feel free to flame me if you must, but serious question. Let's say the Cowboys go 12-5 lose in the NFCCG that's clearly not winning it all.

Are you saying mikes a goner ?????

I'm not going to flame you, but I will say that this team has failed in back-to-back 12-win seasons. Let's say they go 12-5 again and fail in the playoffs. Three in a row, with a team that should be good enough to get to the Super Bowl? Something has to give, and it's not going to be the guy with the big contract. If Philly gets to the SB again, there will be some soul searching in Big D. Maybe?

We may just disagree on that but one of the indicators is by looking at the quarterbacks

AFC.…Mahomes, Allen,Rodgers,Burrow,Jackson,Herbert,Lawrence,Tua,….1st tier

NFC…..Hurts 1st tier. (Prescott. Cousins 2nd tiers)

the difference in the conferences most important players is a mammoth chasm in favor of the AFC and I know that the Niners are an all round powerful team but what other NFC team is in that league?

How do we determine this team is good enough to get into the Super Bowl when we have faced a team that is arguably better than us ? And we could again this year.

What NFL franchise has fired a HC after 3 consecutive playoff appearances including double digit win seasons . Just ridiculous.

If we do and we fire him then don’t expect Cowboys to ever attract anyone else worth a crap.

I’m agreeing now . No doubt . But not necessarily historically.

And if you want to use QB ‘s as a measurement then it’s not even close at this time but just a couple years ago it was with Brady , Brees and Rodgers in NFC. At that time all AFC had was Mahomes before Burrows and Allen rose to the top.

But it looks to be tilted now for a few years but interestingly the NFC still has won 2 of last 3 Super Bowls.

Tampa Bay fired Tony Dungy after he couldn't get them to the highest level despite three consecutive playoff appearances. They hired Gruden. Result: Super Bowl victory. I guess it's not so ridiculous, eh?

One example in NFL history. Not quite what I’d call the standard . But if that is what you want to hang your hat on. Lol

And you didn’t answer any of the other questions like why do you think we should be beating better teams in the playoffs?
