I guess I'll repeat the obvious. Good stuff, but we are now playing 17 game schedules. Apples and oranges

So, statistically speaking, with a 17 game season they probably would've done it some or all of
2005-2006
2006-2007
2007-2008
2008-2009
2016-2017
2017-2018

The good news, as someone pointed out, is that this might be 12+ wins back to back anyway
:flagwave:
Nice researching!

Since they haven't played all 17 games yet, I'd say it's apples to apples, unless they lose all but the last game remaining.
Its a given they'll get 10 this year.
The point was that if they played 17 games all those past years, they would've most likely had back-to-back 10-win seasons many times.

Again though, the cool thing is that could be raised to 12 games and they will still probably do it. Then it really would apply all the way back 30-40 years

I was going to bring that up. Because this team would probably be 10 wins even in the old 14 game season format.

Well, looks like the streak with no repeat division winner will continue. Last time in 2004. Dallas will have to get lucky not just to win out...but have philthy lose another game. That packer collapse really hurt.

It's a nice regular season stat but to be fair, stats like this are not relevant in a 17 game world
Any team that previously won 9 would have, more often than not by the averages, won 10 in 17 game season;
Moving forward perhaps but this is only 2nd season with 17 games so that doesn’t really apply to this past era.

It could have gone the other way just as easily.

And we could argue that a 17 game season could be providing an opportunity to balloon win totals which could make double digit win seasons less notable.

Yep. Thats the point. 10 wins now not the same as 10 wins before.
But again, probably going to be way more that anyway.

I guess I need to do a better job writing optimistically.

Definitely been some roller coaster decades though, and anyone who hasn’t been disappointed by it, I would question.
And we can’t be absolutely certain it’s came to an end yet, the disappointment that is in postseason.

But consecutive playoff season and double digit win seasons is at least a potential beginning .

My point is with additional game double digit wins isn’t as impressive . Nor is making playoffs with additional Wild Card.

Stats from last year moving forward will be skewed in comparison.

How many double digit win teams did this guy squander?

Four....8-8 in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2019.

Let’s hope so. If not then will this be the most talented team we’ve squandered this era?

I can't say squandered. But it's one way of putting it. Only one team gets there. The ball can sometimes bounce in mysterious ways. I'm happy that we're legit contenders. Can't get there otherwise. For example, if I were a Vikings fan, I'd be happy about the season, but not confident at all about contending for a championship.
