So, today I have decided to take a different direction with my article. Usually, I give you a rundown of stats and a quick review of the game. But, in a game ranging from penalties to injuries, to sacks (5!!!) and fumbles, I want to take it in a different direction.
It became very obvious to me after Folk's missed field goal and Williams' drops that the day was not going to go well for us at all. I have faith that this was an off week for the Boys and that we will come back again, so let me know what you think about the rest.
Let me say this for every football fan out there. WHAT? You can't review who has possession of the ball? That's crazy! We all know Tony fumbled the ball, but Felix had possession of the ball before being snagged by Green Bay. The fact that the call was wrong and Green Bay gained great field position and scored isn't something that can be reviewed? I don't really think anyone understands. I am VERY curious to see the answer that the NFL gives us on this. However, it won't change the fact that it was a terrible call that resulted in seven more points for Green Bay. I am baffled, but I know I am not alone.
Next on the list that I would like to straighten out... You can't review the fact they gave the ball to the wrong team, but when you throw a challenge flag when you are very obviously out of challenges, there is no penalty? No delay of game or time out charged? It totally broke up our momentum and affected the game. So now, coaches can just keep throwing the red flag and say "Oh, I didn't know I was out of challenges!" and delay the game? That makes no sense to me. Looks like this game became one of those games that make the NFL take a second look at the rules they have put into place.
The Cowboys knew that playing at Lambeau would be a challenge, but overall they just fell apart. Yet I will say this, it could have been worse. The Eagles could have won. We could have been shut out. We are still on top of the NFC East, but we have a very busy next two weeks with two games within five days of each other, leading into a December filled with tough opponents. The offense needs to figure out the misfire and we have to get and stay healthy.
The Cowboys play the Commanders at home next Sunday, November 22nd, and I am very excited to get to be there in person to cheer them back to victory. I can't wait for the smile to return to Tony Romo's face. Let's Go Cowboys!
sorry couldnt resist when i ran across this while i was diligently searching for stats and trends and insightful analysis and stuff that real fans look for
lets get that smile back on Tonys face !!!
